Condemnation.

It took three days, but the Serbian government released a statement today decrying an anti-gay attack that left a trio of activists injured. The nation has been on edge as organizers launched an inaugural gay festival, one which nationalist groups have been threatening for months. And some made good on their promises last week when they attacked two females and a male who had come out to celebrate. The man is said to be an American citizen. The government today said condemned the attack and said it’s prepared to use more of its power to subdue violent nationalist groups. Two of the instigators have been arrested. [Gay.com]

It is very important that the press, both straight and gay, pick up on such stories concerning violence against gays in Serbia since the stubborn Serbian government, police and such would take no action against such ignorant and violent bastards preying on gays to fulfill their violent glory days against their neighbors. Keep up the good work on reporting on such issues and putting pressure on both the Serbian government and Serbian population against such disregard for human rights. Yugoslavia is dead and Serbia needs to join its neighbors (Montenegro, Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina) in being progressive and fashion forward in all aspects.
