Congratulations to Karina Shaline, The First-Ever Miss India Transgender

The 25-year-old Karina Shaline (pictured, center) “bagged the crown,” an awesome linguistic metaphor for the Mumbai model winning India’s debut Miss Transgender pageant. Shaline beat out beautician Thokcho Rockyson Romi, 23, and dance instructor Padmini, neither of whom bothered to rip the crown off Shaline’s head.
