Francine Busby, who’s running for Congress in 2010, thought she was having a lovely fundraiser at the San Diego home of two lesbian supporters. Then a neighbor called the police, complained about the noise coming from next door, and managed to get eight police cruisers and a helicopter to the scene to investigate. Then out came the pepper spray. The whole scenario is ridiculous.

Gee, if this is how the police respond to a noise complaint it’s no wonder California is suffering from a severe budget crisis.

@thatguyfromboston: Ever since the riot in LA, the police doesn’t seem to fuck around when something is reported as a possible riot or civil uprising. They come out with all guns blaring. It could possibly be because they value their own lives and don’t want them to end to a pissed off crowd.

attacks on gays are up….way up…
galefan2004
@alan brickman: I don’t remotely believe that. I believe that more gays are reporting it than ever before. I think that gays are tired of being the victims of shame and prejudice and are standing up against it. However, I think reporting is up not the crime itself.

@galefan2004: Right, because nothing warrants eight units and a helicopter (plus pepper spray) like a summer night in the backyard with your political supporters.

@Galefan2004BC – It was a noise complaint. Not a riot, or civil uprising.
