WE DON'T WANT YOUR KIND

Couple Claims They Were Asked To Leave Wal-Mart Because They’re Gay

Just in case you needed another reason to hate Wal-Mart, a man in Chickasha, Oklahoma claims he was asked to leave his local Wal-Mart store because he is gay.

Jonathan Pacheco and his boyfriend (pictured) were shopping for cookies when a janitor allegedly approached them and asked a series of questions about homosexuality, then muttered something about “Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve,” before requesting the men leave the premises.

“He told me that I wasn’t allowed in his store,” Pacheco told the Express Star“I just walked away. I wasn’t looking for any kind of fight and we weren’t acting inappropriately. I just wanted to buy some cookies.”

When he went to alert two different managers about the incident, Pacheco says no action was taken: “They didn’t write anything down. They just kind of sent me away.”

Kayla Whaling, spokesperson for Wal-Mart, says the company is investigating the incident.

“We are still in the process of talking to all who were involved,” she said. “As soon as we are finished we will take the appropriate measures.”

Wal-Mart has a reputation for mistreating LGBT customers and employees, though the company has recently taken baby steps remedy this. This summer it began offering benefits to same-sex couples. Of course, the retail giant still pays employees crap, is anti-union, and doesn’t give a shit about the environment. But that’s another story.
