“I used the Internet to solicit sexually explicit photos of minors, your honor,” Nathan Hasty, a former Campus Life Director for Youth for Christ in Indiana, pleaded in district court last week.
The 36-year-old pedophile was first arrested two years ago after he was suspected of creating fake Facebook profiles to solicit dirty photos from teenage boys, including adolescents who belong to Youth for Christ.
Now, Hasty has admitted he posed as a horny 16-year-old girl and would initiate conversations about sex with the boys, who were mostly between the ages of 12 and 14.
“They believed they were corresponding with a juvenile female,” Miller Lowery, assistant U.S. Attorney, said. “They were under the impression they were communicating with a female of like age.”
Once he gained their trust, Hasty would coerce the boys into sending him naked photos of themselves. He also convinced a few of them to masturbate on webcam while he watched, claiming he didn’t have a camera.
Hasty’s plea agreement calls for a sentence of 15 years in prison.
