Crystal Dixon Is Not Going To Be Dropped From Her New HR Gig In Jackson, Michigan

Even though the gays at Equality Michigan are getting all up in the faces of Jackson, Michigan, city officials over the hiring of proud homophobe Crystal Dixon as the city’s new human resources manager, they’re standing by the woman who calls gays fake “civil rights victims.” Jackson Mayor Karen Dunigan, who has also heard from the American Family Association’s team of misfits crying out in support of Dixon, isn’t going to rescind the offer.

Local officials said out of the hundreds of messages they have received, few have come from Jackson-area residents. Dunigan said she has received about an equal number of messages from individuals who support Dixon or scold officials for hiring her. The debate won’t change the city and county’s decision to select Dixon for the job, said Dunigan, who did not sit on the six-member panel that interviewed her.

The panel included city Manager Warren Renando, interim personnel Director Frank Weathers, city Clerk Lynn Fessel, county Undersheriff Tom Finco, district court Administrator Tamara Bates and Brown. “We had six very capable people in the process of hiring for that position,” Dunigan said. “They’re very qualified. I have to trust in them and their decisions.” County board Chairman Steve Shotwell said if Dixon follows state law and county policies that prevent job discrimination, then her position on gay rights will be a non-issue. “No one is to be treated any differently,” Shotwell said.

Brown agreed and reiterated that she is the right person for the job. “When she comes here she’s going to be evaluated on treating people fair and equitably,” Brown said. “We’re committed to that and she’s committed to that.”

She’s also committed to demonizing “those choosing the homosexual lifestyle,” but whatever.
