If a miniseries were made that was more faithful to the cold-eyed observer's tone of Updike's book than the movie was, this could be really good — more like Cranford meets the Sopranos.
Of course, mostly likely they'll just crank up the camp.

Um…they've already tried to adapt the film into a series. A pilot for a show called "Eastwick" was produced a few years back and featured a pre-"Desperate Housewives" Marcia Cross as Jane (Susan Sarandon's character) and Chris Evans as one of the sons of Daryl van Horne. Only the pilot was produced, but it wasn't picked up by any network. I saw it years ago…it was actually pretty good, had three hot young male leads but Marcia Cross is much better off as Bree.

Network TV is so predictable: Bewitched meets Desperate Housewives. Typical high-concept shit show. Will probably be a huge hit with The Gays.

HKG is funny.
^^^ thanks. you have to have a sense of humor when you're dealing with people who think Desperate Housewives is "edgy."
But Christian Slater is in another series…(this could be too cryptic for some)
How about menopausal Charmed?
