Homo hopes are up in India, where a court is reconsidering Section 377, a Colonial era penal code criminalizing same-sex loving. Activists are hoping the court will “read down” the law, which would remove gay speak from 377. [Times of India]

I don’t know how India is affected anymore by prior British codes, now that they are independant.
According to Arundhati Roy the govenment is pretty Fascist currently to the degree of slaughtering Moslems, and with economic concerns, since they are so obliged to the U.S.
(1/3 of our engeneers are outsourced Indians) they have a fast growing economy with great poverty.
Regardless of the separation from Britain , the wealthy have many British Market
