I'm under the impression that they are two different companies without common ownership. If that's the case, then the headline on this article is patently false.
Per Wikipedia the Twitter team's core consists of Jack Dorsey,
Evan Williams, and Biz Stone. None of the names listed on the bit.ly about page match those names.
Does it matter? You click the link on Twitter and get a spam page.
Yes, it does matter. You could post the same bit.ly link on facebook, and notice that it leads to the spam report page, and write "Oh look! Facebook also is against marriage equality". Same for myspace, wordpress.com, and the list goes on.
