Damage Control.

“In an unusual move, Hillary Clinton’s staff is creating a 40-member “whip team” at the Denver Democratic convention to ensure that her supporters don’t engage in embarrassing anti-Obama demonstrations during the floor vote on her nomination, according to people familiar with the planning.” Yes, but can they quell outdoor rallies? Obama played with fire and he got burnt. Not only did he utterly fail to win the religious right over with his gospel tour, he has single-handedly alienated many in the Democratic base. This little convention rebellion is merely a symptom of a much bigger disease. The fact to the matter is, if Obama were doing better in the polls, Hillary’s supporters wouldn’t dare stage an uprising against his authority.

I’ve noticed that even liberal pundits like Bill Maher and Michael Moore have stopped saying Obama’s the “transformative change” candidate. Now, they’re saying Obama’s the “lesser of two evils,” which is probably the worse thing you could possibly say about a person you’re voting for.

So, here’s the deal, Barack.

If you want to lose this election, then keep on supporting wiretapping, torture, faith based initiatives, and drilling for more oil. That’ll demoralize the Democratic base and keep your sorry ass out of the White House. If you want to win, then you need to toss the John Kerry playbook to the wayside and get your mojo back. And you need to do it soon!
