Dan + Josh Smithman Are Getting Married In Every U.S. State That Will Have Them
Nadya Suleman may hold some record about having the most babies at once. But Dan and Josh Smithman (who merged their separate surnames Smith and Sackman) are hoping to claim a record of their own: the most gay married couple in America.
On a two-week tour of American states that offer same-sex marriage, the Smithmans plan to get married in each one. Luckily, they married in California in June 2008, back when it was legal, and they picked up their Iowa button yesterday. Now its off to New Hampshire and Connecticut and and Vermont and Massachusetts and D.C. as they continue their smug battle against the Defense of Marriage Act. And yes, they already have their Canada badge, from 2007. It was their first one.

I can’t remember which state it is, but in one of the same-sex marriage states, it’s technically illegal to marry ANYONE if you are already married, even the person you’re married to. The wording of the law effectively bans getting married to your spouse again. I think maybe New Hampshire?
Though I doubt anyone will bust them for it.
