A homophobic email written by a Tea Party leader from Florida has been leaked to the press.
Danita Kilcullen (pictured here in her 2011 police mug shot lol) is the co-founder of the Fort Lauderdale Tea Party. Earlier this month, she warned in a poorly-written email that if the Employment Non-Discrimination Act becomes law, it would force employers to “hire someone with orange hair, body/neck/face covered with tattoos, multiple piercings, or a man in a dress … or for that matter, a demonstrative effeminate male or purposeful butch-looking female.” Or maybe even someone with a scary mug shot and bowl cut!
The email was sent in the beginning of November, when ENDA was coming up for a vote in the senate before stalling. It was leaked to the press earlier this week.
Kilcullen also called Log Cabin Republicans a “thug organization with only their own ‘special interests’ in play.” Has she met any of these suit wearing queens?

Kilcullen has been active in her local Tea Party chapter since 2009. In 2011, she was arrested and booked into a county jail for drunkenly kicking a police officer in the chest with a three-inch stiletto.
Earlier this year, Kilcullen was accused of being a racist when she responded to a tweet written by R&B singer Toni Braxton regarding the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the murder of Trayvon Martin.
“I too am embarrassed to be an American when our government and society fail to empower and protect all people,” Braxton had tweeted.
In response, Kilcullen took to her personal Facebook account: “Yo, girl, you can’t take America’s justice system? Go be an African!!”
She later claimed her Facebook account had been hacked by “a gay Republican.”

As a woman, Danita understands the risk that mainstreamed male homosexual acts bring to the social power balance between men and women. The idea that a man can compete with a woman for the sexual attention of men is at the heart of a woman’s fear of male homosexuality.
When a man can compete with a woman for the attention of men, it adds a powerful sexual competitor to the picture. Men have higher and more constant sex drives than women. He will consent to having sex with a man much more often than a woman would consent to having sex with a man. He will not ask for a monetary reward whereas she will often have a string attached to her agreeing to have sex with a man.
Such an idea takes away the one power that women have been able to wield over men since time began – ie the power to control men through their conditional consent to sex with him. This is why a lot of opposition to male homosexuality – particularly when it exists in men who also sexually interact with women – comes from women.
Opposition to male homosexuality is basically a female survival mechanism.

We know from the constant streams of stories here on Queerty that women are at the heart of homophobic reactions to men’s homosexuality. In fact, read any gay blog and you will see that women react negatively to homosexuality in men.
Women react negatively to homosexuality in men if it exists alongside sexual feelings for women. Such men represent a threat to her ability to control men. Homophobia towards men is closely tied up with the gender war that women conduct on men.

@jimbryant: Oh no Jim, I don’t believe that for one second! Whenever there is a Civil Rights or Human Rights issue, we women are usually front and center fighting for that right.
I think that other men are the ones threatened by gay men, because they have been taught that being gay means being different, and if nothing else our culture is afraid of the “different.”
I am married and the thought that I control a single thing my husband does is silly. We are grown ups, Jim, and independent. We just chose to live our lives together.
I hope and in my heart I believe that the views you expressed will die out in my lifetime. Because people who live fully as themselves are always the happiest.

There have been many, many stories on Queerty and other gay blogs about how women are leading the charge against male homosexuality. You can’t ignore them.
Even when men are leading the charge against male homosexuality, it’s often the women who have put them up to it. These homophobic men see male homosexuality as threatening a woman’s honor.
Here’s a perfect example of how a woman led the charge against male homosexuality, albeit years ago: Queen Victoria banned male homosexuality but not female homosexuality.
