Rowan Williams came out for the gays yesterday. The Archbishop of Canterbury, who’s constantly fighting his Anglican peers on the lavender sets’ place at the table, told the press that homophobic death threats against activist Colin Coward amount to nothing more than “unchristian bullying.” [BBC]

He’s also thinks Britain should recognize sharia law which would condem us fagalas to death.

I haven’t heard this before, Tommy. If its true, then that’s frightening. Could you provide a source for your allegation, please, so that I can investigate further? Thanks.

He never simply stated that. He said that Britain would need to recognise certain things in civil cases, such as divorce, much like we already do. Media spins on this issue have been terrible for the Archbishop. You can find the stories if you search the BBC website.

I’m not so enthused about the archbishop’s statement. He’s not going out on any limb concerning gays as bishops which is the real issue within the Anglican communion. He’s condemning violence against gays. Okay, appreciate that, but it’s hardly courageous.
