The Republican National Committee stepped up the general election game today with this ad attacking Barack Obama. Rather than trotting out old man McCain, the RNC very cleverly spliced together former Democratic candidates questioning Obama’s presidential abilities. The star of the show? Hillary Clinton, who famously said Obama couldn’t pass a “Commander-in-Chief test.”
Dems. v Obama, Thanks To RNC

Yawn.
Bob
I agree, Freddo. Did anyone NOT expect this from them?
John
YAWN too. This will keep on happening and happening! It’s no news! Hil supporters were always the one’s who wouldn’t budge in that militant kind of way…
Tom
We knew this was coming. When Clinton elevated McCain over Obama in her comments was when I lost all respect for her and I formally withdrew my support and switched to Obama. I have never witnessed a candidate put her own personal ambitions above those of the Party as much as Clinton did. It was (and continues to be) disappointing and treasonous.
On a more positive note, the ad shows that the Republicans really have no accomplishments to run on as every thing they have done over the last 8 years has been a complete disaster and failure.
This election will be about the economy and war, and as long as those morons in the other party pander to the absurd, Obama will win.
Bob
Love how the Obamatons are still wallowing in their Hillary hatred. Great way to make nice with the 17 million of us you need to win the election in November. Keep on alienating us and we’ll see Grandpa McCain in office, guaranteed.
afrolito
Treasonous????!!
Obamanuts are INSANE!
Anyone who refuses to bow down before their god should obviously be guillotined.
Off with her head!
L.
I agree with Bob! every word of it is true. The democrats did this to themselves by nominating obama.
CitizenGeek
Ugh, silly Hillary Clinton …

hillary clinton is like a horror movie monster. Everytime you chop off one of her hideous heads another grows to take its place.

Bob, it almost sounds like you expect the anti-Hillary Dems to start kissing ass in order to gain votes for Obie. They’re not running for Pres., though; he is.
Nicholas
Who cares this ad doesn’t mean shit. Obama is running on the fact that he wants to change the way Washington is. Wouldn’t the fact that he hasn’t been influenced by the special interests for all these years (like McCain and Clinton) work to his advantage?
He beat Clinton on the change vs. experience arguement. He will beat McCain as well.
McCain already is trying to argue for the “right” change he knows he would lose if the election was held to day.
Phil Attey
Bob –
The Clinton supporters have no moral ground to point the hate finger at the Obama supporters.
I attended the RBC meeting this past Saturday and was absolutely disgusted by the level of hate speech coming out of their mouths. In my 20 years as an LGBT activist never have I witnessed in American politics such hateful and rude behavior — not from the evangelical zealots nor the Republicans.
The saddest part is that this unacceptable behavior was not from voters from FL or MI, but female and GAY MALE Clinton supporters, mostly from NY and NJ (and one cute guy from Boston) — who had no reason to be there other than to represent their candidate. They continually disrupted the meeting and left screaming that they were going to help the Republicans win in November — traitorous words to every women’s or LGBT rights activist.
So here we have the first GOP shot at the Democratic Nominee … it’s no surprise that the star is Sen. Clinton. Everybody loses on our side because of this.
Sen. Obama takes a hit and Sen. Clinton ruins her chance for being considered for The VP. But the biggest loss is on all our shoulders who have long supported either candidate, for it perpetuates this hate between us.
Yours in the struggle for equality,
+ Phil

There has been enough venom spewed to kill a stable of horses on both sides.
That was then, this is now. Let’s let it go and move forward. Sometimes the media and pundits create more havoc than really exist.
Obama gave an awesome speech and will make a great President. Let’s not forget that the real enemy is is sitting in the White House with the blood of thousands on his hands.
Marco Channing
I don’t understand how people who support Hillary Clinton (whose proposed policies are very similar to Obama’s) would be willing to throw that all away and vote for McCain out of spite. To make a point, these people would…
…vote to stay in Iraq for another 5 to 100 years, wasting trillions of dollars and thousands of lives
…vote to let McCain appoint several Supreme Court Justices who are almost certain to tamper with Roe V. Wade, Gay Marriage, and other civil liberties–like not being spied on by the utility companies.
…vote to continue the same economic policies that have resulted in $4 a gallon gasoline, a recession, the housing crisis, and the dwindling value of the dollar.
…vote to have McCain appoint an Attorney General along the lines of Alerto Gonzales who will allow the Executive Branch to continue to violate the Constitution unchecked.
..vote to go to war with Iraq.
…vote to keep health care just as it is.
How is this helping anyone? How is this helping YOU?
emb
Thank you, Marco.
Mark
why are 18 million of us responsible for what 18 million of you did? That was your choice.
And, I think some of us are voting for Nader, not necessarily McCain.
Mowan
“why are 18 million of us responsible for what 18 million of you did? That was your choice.”
Because that is how the rules are set. Its not determined by popular vote, its determined by delegates. Dont be angry at Obama because he played by the rules, and won. If you think Nader has a chance then by all means vote for him. His views are again pretty much the same as Obama.
fredo777
A vote for Nader is, basically, a vote for McCain. We all know that.
Mowan
I agree Fredo777, but let them vote for a losing candidate. they are just doing that in case Obama loses and they can just bitch and moan more saying that Hillary should have been the Nominee but have the cop out saying that they id not vote against their own kind by not voting for McCain.
No big deal. Ten to one he will signal her for the VP slot and that will appease the “18 million” voters and finish putting a Dem in the White house.
Mr C
These queens of hatred towards Obama are only hurting themselves in the long run. At least we now know how race relations in the Gay community is…….WOW
OBAMA/CLINTON 08′
The CHANGE and EXPERIENCE we need!
Mark
actually, like me, some of us are going to start building the third parties we seem to really need…You may be sold on Obama, and I hear claims he’s going to end the war in Iraq–but like every other Democrat during the Pelosi Speakership he’s been voting to fund it. In fact, the Democrats have never simply put forward the same bill to de-fund the war until it was discussed, or vetoed, or whatever…they’ve caved every time.Obama caves on gay marriage equality by talking about “floor and ceiling” states. Funny, no one told the blacks they could live in a floor or ceiling state…somehow that’s acceptable for us? (I live in a floor state, and no, I can’t afford to move). More of us ought to actually make a reasonable alternative happen, but we’re always guilted into–blah blah this will happen because of you! blah blah this will happen if you don’t vote our way! Well, maybe it has to happen, finally. Maybe we just have to see what actually does take place.Sure, maybe we’ll see McCain in the presidency (I think his campaign is too inept, but maybe Obama’s is too cocksure)–does he have a congressional majority? Doesn’t look like he will…maybe all of you know that you can’t trust the Democrats to really do any of the pie-in-the-sky things you want. To push for your rights, or end the war, or fund schools, or build infrastructure…I certainly don’t trust them. I’ve seen what they can do for the last couple of years and it looked a hell of a lot like what the Republicans were doing before them.Yes, I personally think Hillary was the best bet in the field, and with her gone, there has to be another answer. The process is broken–yet another winner of a pick from Iowa. Here, for me, is where something has to give.
fredo777
I’m not risking any third party voting at this particular point in time, b/c I don’t think we can afford to end up w/ McCain in the office. Vote how you will, though.
Mowan
Mark
Sorry you feel that we are guilting you into voting for Obama. I for one am not. You are a grown man, you can vote how you choose. But this is a Gay Agenda Forum and i just want to see your reasoning as to why you are voting for someone that has no chance at the presidency except to pick up a percent of the jilted Clinton supporters instead of voting on someone that is pretty much Hillary with Dick. all those things you said that Obama voted for Hillary voted for too. in fact Hillary said that gay marriage would not pass under her administration. I for one think that is a small topic compared to Economy and Health care but i dont want that “small topic” to be banned for life under McCain. Again just trying to understand.
Marco Channing
My father voted for Nader in 2000 to “send a message” to the Democratic Party. I urged him not to, because that would help Bush win.
Eight years later, my Father (a vet who is having payment for health care treatment denied) deeply regrets casting that vote.
Timmy
Mark,
Are you an erotic novelist ? Your writing style made me horny, especially the line about Obama being “cocksure” and the “pie-in-the-sky.” Maybe I just need to get laid more often or I am just so f**king excited Obama won I just want to c*m.
Anyway, maybe we just all need to take a moment and ejaculate for democracy.
Mark
no, Timmy, I’m not, but you just made my partner laugh.
And, I have to say–there’s no real message being sent to the Dems this time around. I just think it’s finally time to actually commit to having more than two bad choices for the highest office in the country…I’m jealous of the British system where there are at least three parties that have decent shots at the PM’s office, and several others that can achieve representation in policy making. Our system isn’t set up for that naturally, it has to be forced upon it (for example, 3rd parties can’t be automatically placed on some state’s ballots unless they reach a pre-determined threshold of vote percentage). I think we need this to happen.
(note, pre-determined has nothing to do with pre-ejaculate…I’m just saying…)
Mowan
Mark
if that is your reasoning, then by all means Vote for Nader. It might not be you who i am talking about, but as i said, i am amazed on how many are voting against him out of protest that their nominee did not win and cant come up with a good reason as to why they are doing so , other then bitterness. England’s system has flaws like any governing country, but if you feel that is what this country needs then so be it. More power too ya. 😀
Timmy
You are such a tease. 😉
tofer david
every word is true. obamabots only make me angrier.
emb
Then please, Tofer David, go campaign for McCain and quit just sitting around spewing hate at Obama. That ad demonstrates every reason why Hillary is being subjected to so much bad press: she and Bill have run a nasty, negative, divisive and brutal campaign from the start, based on a sense of entitlement so strong it seems to be taking her several days just to recognize that in fact she did not win the primary election. I have never seen a more mean-spirited presidential primary in my life than this one, and it wasn’t Obama or Richardson or Biden or any of the others slinging the desperate, furious mud, making up heroic biographies, and siding with the opposition against a fellow Dem. Now McCain is using Hillary’s and Bill’s viciousness all over again, so if you loved it the first time, you’ll love the rerun. Grampy McCain’s welcome to you and your friends, but the rest of us will suffer the consequences.
Mr C
EMB
Don’t worry dear we will not suffer because CHANGE is in the air. Don’t worry, Don’t fret. It will be contentous for a minute and then smooth sailing.
BELIEVE THAT!
OBAMA/CLINTON 08′
The CHANGE and EXPERIENCE we need!
bobito
Well, that’s probably a wise move on the RNC’s part – Hillary is a much more eloquent and capable speaker than McCain. I also think her vitriolic attacks on Obama will eliminate the likelihood of her being the VP nominee. But she put those words out there and can’t take them back now.
But the candidate who opted out of the mudslinging (for the most part) and vitriol has won the nomination. That’s a good thing for Americans. Maybe it will change the tone of the GE if he can continue to show the same kind of grace under pressure, and not strike wildly back when he’s pissed off. We all know grumpy Grampy McCain doesn’t have that kind of skill. This should be an advantage for Obama when they face off in the debates. Time will tell…
MJ
Both sides will attack the other. All sides will attack each other. Some attacks will be legitimately called for. Whatever.
fredo777
Speaking of ads, I just spotted a spiffy little Obama ’08 banner ad on facebook.
Cool.
Bill Perdue
Tom Bradley was the moderate, African American Democratic mayor of Los Angeles. He was ekected to five consecutive terms from 1973 until 1993. Bradley twice ran for Governor of California enjoying substantial leads in the polls but was defeated both times by rightwing anti-union Republican George Deukmejian.
Bradley’s losses were unexpected but what the polls didn’t show was the depth of racism in the Democratic Party. The Democratic party is a cesspool of racism, misogyny and anti-GLBT bigotry, of which racism is far and away the most intractable. The consequences of this concealed racism are termed the “Bradley Effect”.
In any election the Bradley Effect would be hard to overcome and McCain will certainly exploit it. However he’s been give a leg up by the open racism of Dixiecrats like Bill and Hillary Clinton. If you’ve never heard of Willie Horton you will soon. Anyone who says that the Dixiecrats all left with Strom Thurmond or that they all come from the South is either delusional or lying through their teeth.
Bob
God, you Obamatons are insane! Literally, this is how you approach the issue: That miserable fucking cunt bitch liar whore Hillary Clinton is a piece of shit and so is everyone who supported her! But hey, let’s all make nice and get behind Obama, OK you traitorous worthless brain-dead, uneducated Clinton voters? Why can’t Obama’s supporters show the same level of decency and respect as your candidate, who has already acknowledged Hillary’s campaign and supporters and seems to actively want to mend fences? Instead, you continue to berate us as though that’s going to convince us to vote for him. Yeah, good luck with that. Frankly, at this point, I’m starting to feel it would be worth it to have McCain win just so I can sit back and laugh as you all scratch your heads and wonder what the hell happened.
Tom
Bob, you have just proven yourself to be a Republican mole. There is no way a Cinton suporter would refer to her in that manner, no way. Get lost you pest.
fredo777
Bob, two things…
a). If you cast your vote for Johnny Mac + he wins, I doubt that you’ll be laughing for very long.
b). If “our candidate” has been gracious + he is the one running for pres., why does it matter to you whether some random online supporters dislike his former opponent?
The bottom line: a democrat won the nom. Now it’s time for democrats to get behind the dem. who won + leave all of the primary rivalry in the dust. Whether or not some of Obama’s (or Hillary’s) supporters can let the bickering go, your vote should really only depend on the candidate.
