The real question here is why Charles Chaput and the priest at Sacred Heart in Boulder felt it necessary to pry into what goes on in people’s bedrooms. Ain’t none of their business! If the Archdiocese won’t police the sex lives of priests in their own ranks, why are they condemning sex lives of their parishioners?

It is ancient and loving dogma, not “tired and hateful”. It is God’s dogma.
You are wrong about only old people attending Mass. My experience is quite different. Perhaps you should attend a more conservative parish.
The percentage of kiddy diddlers in the ranks of priests is the same percentage as in the general population. One would hope that priests would do better, but apparently not.
It is true that the number of priests was decreasing, which is due to the liberal thinking in the Church over the last five decades. But orthodox Catholic seminaries and nunneries are increasing in number, and they are filled to capacity. See, the men in the pointy hats did learn. Liberalism, by its very nature, stands for nothing. And people are not willing to sacrifice for nothing.

They have yet to realize their tired, hateful spiteful dogma is bringing about the end of this wicked institution…….

The only persons reguarlly attending mass are older folks. Younger persons are turned off by the kiddie diddling drama, and their refusal to acknowledge a huge percentage of their ranks are Gay. Schools are closing, Parishes who not too long ago had six or seven Priests now have one. Many times that single Priest covers two or three Parishes. And they still do not learn. The men in pointy hats and dresses have begun what is basically an inquisitioin into the orders of US Nuns, for “straying from church teaching and ways”…………..

Once their greatest asset was their values, now their greatest value is their assets………..

The catholic church will change. It has many times in its history. Its own survival is its primary concern. It was virtually silent while millions of people were led away to their deaths during the 30′s and 40′s, which was certainly an obvious time for Christians to speak out, because it did not want to jeopardize its position. And now, as the winds are changing, so will the church. No one should be so foolish as to think the church is sitting on some sort of bedrock of principle no matter what they say. The catholic church is just a bunch of foolish, confused, and pretty much derelict old men desperate to hang on.

No more children of divorced parents!
In the words of a commenter at the catholicnewsagency.com whose monicker oddly resembles my own, the Catholic schools, in keeping with the faith of “the One True Church” must also immediately disenroll children whose “parents are divorced without annullment, support abortion rights, practice artificial means of contraception” or engage in adultery, because “we must support Marriage at all costs.”

The pretzel logic behind the catholic theology is astounding. They’ll enroll a protestant kid, the child of a single and never married Mom, but not the offspring of –gasp– lesbians?

With all the other preschools available in Boulder/Denver, I can’t imagine why any gay parents would +want+ their kids in a catholic school, but for the archbishop to be so adamant about the gays and not the heretical divorcees and condom/pill users makes even LESS sense.

Alright… I’m confused… can someone please tell me why 2 lesbians would want their kids to go to a school where they might be taught things agonist their beliefs? How will the children feel when the teachers explain the church’s teaching on relationships.

I think that it is wrong for the church to ban the kids, but I also can understand why. The church has let us all know what it thinks about same sex relationships. The church is not going to change.. I think that we waste time, effort and money when we try, We piss off many of our supporters each time we try to change groups like the Catholic, Mormon, Baptist or other conservative groups.

I am more pissed off at the mothers for putting their children through this. I almost think that they were looking for trouble or to cause trouble. I would NEVER put my children in a school that goes against my beliefs. We need to keep our distance from people and groups like this. I would bet that there are many schools in Denver, that are more welcoming and inclusive then SH.

Stop giving them money! Take your kids out of their schools and support inclusive schools! Jeez! How many times do we really need to hear about another queer getting put out of the Catholic Church? Stop going! They don’t want us! Their message is not one of love and equality it is one of hate, control, and making money.

Jesus singled out divorce as a big no-no (well, to be honest, it was getting divorced then remarrying, but very few people divorce with the intention of never seeing anyone else again). So, unless they’re also screening and kicking out kids of divorced parents, he’s got nothing more then his tacky dress.
