Designer Looks Back For New Collection

look04.jpglook10.jpg
If Philip Sparks’ fall designs look familiar, that’s because they are. The 25-year old Canadian courtier started stitching to quench his thirst for a slim, vintage cut. Though inspired by the past, Sparks stays true to today’s trend.

He tells Refinery29‘s Christina Gregory,

The pieces become modern because of the silhouette. I’ve always had a love for old things. and my collection is a way of bringing the old traditions forward. My tail coats aren’t stiff, they’re comfortable and wearable.

If you’re looking forward to wearing Sparks’ looks, check out his website.

I’d buy that short jacket on the right, but I quit my job tearing tickets at the cineplex last week. Bad timing.

A courtier is “an attendant at the court of a sovereign”. Phillip Spartks is a fashion designer, not a courtier.
