Did You Accidentally Sign The Petition Against Gay Marriage?

Earlier today we reported a petition to ban the already-legal gay marriage in Massachusetts, complete with thousands of signatures most likely forged. Shortly thereafter we received this email from a spy a friendly neighborhood Queerty reader:

There are two websites that list the names of EVERYONE who signed onto the petitions. On this website:

You can easily find them and sort through town by town using last name, addresses and other means to sort them out. It’s soooo much fun. I even found some distant relatives who signed it! (Needless to say, I won’t be going over their houses for dinner any time soon).

People have been signing affidavits left and right saying they were either tricked into signing it (which is illegal) or didn’t sign it at all (even more illegal). Basically, anyone who’s signed anything in Massachusetts over the past year or two and is a Massachusetts resident should check.

Honestly, this is more fun than searching the local sex offendor databases. We’ve been researching our friends in Massachusetts all day, making sure they haven’t signed the petition as well. So far, so good. But that’s less a result of their pro-gay political convictions, and moreso a coincidence of their gross laziness. Hey, whatever works.
