Did You Spend Valentine’s Day Getting Unmarried?
The Rev. Billy Talen makes us giggle. Not because he actually got dozens of couples to show up in New York’s Central Park on a chilly Valentine’s Day to revoke their wedding vows in support of gay marriage, but because he asked the crowd, “Can I have a same-sex-elujah?”
Actually, I got unmarried exactly one month early! The divorce was final January 14th. The closet is no place for a gay man…

Rev. Billy does make me laugh, but the guy DOES have a point! If he organized a picket line at the “divorce court” here in Chicago, I would take the day off work and proudly carry a beautiful sign. Am not actually anti-divorce, just to be clear, but divorce is a bigger threat to the so-called “sanctity of marriage” than the gays and lesbians will ever be.
