What are you still doing at home? Don’t you know some 20,000 lesbians have descended upon Palm Springs for The Dinah? There is mad lady action going on in 90-degree weather! Known officially as Dinah Shore Weekend, the event is already in full swing, drawing lesbians from all over the world. (These girls hopped on a 15-hour flight from Australia for the main event.) Wet t-shirt contests? Jelly wrestling? Porn stars? And tonight’s big party “Gurlesque”? Almost sounds like a straight guy’s bachelor party. Which, of course, is the big draw.
Meanwhile on this, the 40th anniversary of the LPGA tournament now known as the Kraft Nabisco Championship — which the actress Dinah Shore helped found, and which organizers continue to distance themselves from the big lez event going on next door — comes word that the 7,000-square-foot Palm Springs home architect Donald Wexler designed for Ms. Shore has been sold. For $4.9 million.
