Does Justin Beiber Really Think He Chose Not To Be Homosexual?

Watch any Justin Bieber interview and it’s clear the kid needs more media training. And then there’s his Rolling Stone interview. The one where he intimates even victims of rape shouldn’t be allowed to get abortions. Oh, and the same one where he says of homosexuality, “It’s everyone’s own decision to do that. It doesn’t affect me and shouldn’t affect anyone else.” I don’t think it was Mr. Bieber’s intent to say sexuality is something all of us can choose, even though he used the word “decision,” but rather to send the message that being gay isn’t something that impacts anyone else, so there’s no reason to make a big fuss or discriminate against someone for it. That said: WHERE ARE YOUR HANDLERS AT A TIME LIKE THIS? We don’t need the U.S. Rolling Stone to start looking like Uganda’s, ya hear?

      Ah, leave the kid alone.
He’s 16 and clearly meant well, just worded both statements in a clumsy way.
If you want to misinterpret it, that’s sad, but so be it…

I think it’s fascinating that the suggestion is he requires more “media training” – ie, to be taught to lie and conceal his real views more effectively for the purposes of making money.

Perhaps what we should be demanding is that those suffering from religous delusion stop indoctrinating defenceless children with their warped bronze-age dogma.

This should actually be terrifying to the evangelicals if I understand his statements.

He agrees with the evangelical way he was raised about abortion, but seems to be saying it isn’t his business if somebody is homosexual.

If that is the drift that even the evangelical youth is taking, then the bigots are in a bit of trouble.

Choice or not, the bigots will continue to hate us, so what is the point? At least, he chose to take a supportive stance, by saying being gay is not a big deal.

Obviously you don’t know this boy too well, read the synopsis of his movie – he and his family are right-wing-nut Christians – so, of course he believes homosexuality is a choice and abortions should never be allowed, it’s what he was brought up to believe. He’s obviously too young to even form a thought for himself or from life experience.

He’s too young to be taken seriously, and I am not going to attack a seventeen year old kid, and I don’t think anyone else should either. He was raised by religious zealots, and is simply parroting what he has been brainwashed into believing his entire life. And like he has any influence over anyone but tweens anyway, and it isn’t like anyone who doesn’t already think that way would suddenly start because of a JB Rolling Stone article. It just isn’t a big deal, and I seriously hope his fans don’t change their views on such things just because their idol said so, and even if they do, he’s just a fad and will be gone soon.

Hey, guess what, Justin? I didn’t choose to be gay, but I’m damned glad I am – especially when the example of being “str8″ is someone as clueless, naive and bigoted as you are. But I DO choose NOT to listen to an untalented whiny-ass teenager who will be sucking cock in an alley for 20 bucks a pop after his career goes down the drain. I guess America doesn’t have a monopoly on douchebags; seems like Canda can produce some whoppers, too. And his age doesn’t excuse his comments. I know plenty of gay kids his age who have had the shit kicked out of them just for the way they were born, so he doesn’t get away with his trash talk as far as I’m concerned. Let’s sic Kathy Griffin on his sorry ass!

@Right Wingers Are Socioptahs (John From England): No, I wasn’t that thick at 17. But I know what its like to be raised by people like that. I grew up in the American Bible Belt. People honestly believe that BS around here.

I just think he has no influence, and he’s brainwashed. The only reason I don’t think that way is because I happened to be gay. So of course I had to learn to think for myself. After conversion therapy, I realized they were all crazy. The dangerous ones I rail against. But I don’t think Justin Beiber falls into that category.

Justin Bieber is a product of marketing. In essence, he’s yet another Canadian travesty following on the heels of Bryan Adams.

They’ll heterosexualize him and deny he’s gay or bi. That’s how the music industry treats male singers. A male singer must never say he’s gay or bi if he’s interested in making lots of money according to the honchos who run the record companies.

As for Rolling Stone magazine, it’s really declined as a force, hasn’t it?

Jason- So you think that Rolling Stone has declined as a force?????

Tell that to General McChrystal whose ass was fired (from leading the war in Afghanistan) following his Rolling Stone interview in this past year. The NY Times and New Yorker magazine both ran stories after that about how influential Rolling Stone is on all sorts of issues.

Maybe you’re just confusing this with the teen crush on the singer magazines.

Given his age and background, I’m going to give him a lot of slack. I remember when Kelly Rowland was starting out in Destiny’s Child at age 16 or 17, she was all about “not compromising (her) Christianity” and thanking Jesus. Now, she’s the queen of the Gay Pride circuit and an advocate of equal rights. His comments about abortion were ugh-inducing but what he said about being gay wasn’t negative.

I’m 16, and I can tell you right now, half of the people I know my age could have given answers 10x better than those, without media training. That answer is beyond offensive. Nobody chooses to be gay, and if I could choose to be straight, to be frank, I wouldn’t, because as a very stupid teen brat once said “everything happens for a reason”. And our health care isn’t that good, by the way, you can wait up to a year for a life saving lab, and literally 24 hours to be seen in the ER. Drugs aren’t covered, either. He needs to disappear, as his ignorance is not at ALL a good example for children. And everyone I know who knew him personally is a Jesus freak, so I’m not totally shocked…

His intent was clear, even if he failed to convey it in the proper manner. It would be like giving someone zero points after deriving an equation, solving the problem, but making a simple math error along the way. Sometimes I wonder if some of the people on this site are still in elementary school. For those crying about how he answers questions, try being on a set with a thousand people watching in person, possibly millions on t.v., and answering questions that are generally intrusive or flat out stupid. At the same time the pressure is on to connect with his young base and not say something that might hit him and his bosses in the pocket. Go to most college campuses and people squirm if they have to give a prepared speech in front of a lecture hall, go to most companies and see how many people would be scrambling to do a personal, or any type of question and answer session on live t.v. The guy is seventeen and does pretty well in school, I am sure that his religious convictions are his own. I bet the true reason that a lot of people on here are ticked off is because he is a person of faith.

@Meowzer: How would you like it if someone told you they didn’t like you acting all gay like? Justin is who he is, just like you are who you are, you want acceptance for yourself but don’t want to grant it to others. Why don’t you get over yourself?

Ok 1 For whatever reason he had for saying what was said in those interviews. Lets all take a step back for a second and remember he is still a child. 2 If you want to sit behind a computer and tear down a child I would love for you to realize that regardless of his obvious cheese and being handled as nothing more than a product. He should be treated like a child not something to be torn apart verbally. That does nothing but further peoples ignorance. Have a little tact and act like the adults most commenters are supposed to be. As for the “breeder” boy insults. Stop bashing with such archaic and self righteous indignation. It doesnt do anything but add more fuel to an already large blaze of controversy.

I am so goddamn sick of this kid. The funny part is that I’ve insisted on referring to him as “the foetus”. And how does he suddenly have two parents? I thought his mom had him when she was like 14 or something ridiculous and raised him on her own. I could understand him being against abortion for that reason, but come on, everyone knows rape is wrong. Why should a woman be brutalized and then be forced to carry some asshole’s kid and raise it on top of that. And if his ass went to jail as it should, she’d be a single mother on top of it.
Also, beiber should be a little more grateful to homosexuals. If it weren’t for masses of lesbians, he wouldn’t have first, his hairstyle, or second, lots and lots of free advertising.
Apparently he wasn’t listening when gaga performed at the Grammys.
“No matter gay, straight or bi
      lesbian, transgendered life
I’m on the right track, baby
      I was born to survive”
      .
since the only lyrics he seems to be able to process are “baby… baby…oooo” someone get this kid some zits and some pubes and all these tween girls some memory loss so we can be rid of him.
isn’t he canadian? doesn’t canada have gay marriage? wtf.
