Dolce & Gabbana Puts the Man Love on the Small Screen
If you’ve tuned in to MTV or Bravo recently, perhaps you’ve witnessed the latest influx of gay-targeted advertising. This time around it’s from – who else? – Dolce & Gabbana, who are marketing their timepieces with some homo storylines. So far, we’ve counted two gay versions of the ad, and they’re only popping up on cable channels, not broadcast. But kudos to D&G for pushing the boundaries … yet again.

Oh, did we mention there’s a straight version? (It also involves sticking a watch down one’s pants.) Here’s one of two we’ve spotted:

You are mistaken. The ads had been shown several times on Channel 11 in NY
I have also seen both gay versions (not the straight version yet) on ABC in Los Angeles. Despite LA being relatively metropolitan the same broadcast is seen in most of Southern California – which can be largely rural once you are out of the La La Bubble.
I stand corrected; I hadn’t seen them on broadcast networks, and I couldn’t find any evidence that they had been shown there. Meanwhile, #2 and #3 say they’ve seen the ads on broadcast in NY and LA, which might mean the ad spots were bought in local, not national, markets.
yup, caught both versions, m4m and w4w, on cw11 last night while watching top model and gossip girls…..
It’s being played pretty regularly here in south Florida on the CW… seems like anytime after midnight… which is during Sex in the City, Will n Grace, Everybody Loves Raymond, Seinfeld… all the great queer shows!
