"The campaigns for and against Proposition 8 have raised a combined $30 million, with donations given in support of the proposed ban on gay marriage running considerably ahead of those to the opposition. So far, the main group promoting the Constitutional amendment, which would overturn a recent California Supreme Court ruling that legalized same-sex marriage, has raised $17.8 million. The main No-on-8 campaign has raised $12.4 million." [LA Times]

what makes me saddest about all these political reports is that they report ONLY on dollar amounts. it makes me sick to think that's the only way to discuss an issue by how much money each side has raised. they might as well replace voting booths with tip jars at this point. so much for democracy.

Heard all about how much our straight supporters are contributing towards this worthy cause. Wonder how much the wealthy from our community are donating? Last I heard Ellen and rich bitches (bitches from both genders) like her have contributed nada, a big fat goose egg! Yet they were first in line to take advantage of the benifit, not to mention the photo ops and self promotion. What gives?
