Dolly Loves Working 9-5

Dolly Parton is having a great time working on the Broadway version of 9-5. It premiers this weekend in Los Angeles and Dolly sat down with the LA Times for an interview. My favorite line from the piece: “9 to 5 is a song Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin could love, and the perfect theme for a musical.” The show sounds fantastic and they have an amazing creative team including theater gurus (and gays) Joe Mantello and Stephen Oremus making it happen.

We saw a preview performance the other night, and it is really great! The performances are awesome, and the music is very good and the staging and sets are like nothing I have ever seen!

Happy to hear that, Michael, I’m looking forward to it coming to Broadway next year.

Who cares about Sarah Palin liking anything; or, for that matter, Hillary Clinton. Strange as far as Clinton goes, I doubt thaat any 1/2 assed attorney ever worked a 9-5 day. When did these women start luggeriating. Was this a joke about female rights or what.! My mom worked 16 hrs/day until she was 80 at home.
Funny there are really no politically relivant musicals; or gay ones. That would be strange , they are usually in wonderland.
