I actually pulled a trick with her 'husband' at Dolly's 5th Avenue Apartment way back when… he found my ad in the back of HX magazine.

Did she deny being a drag queen elsewhere in the interview? What does her husband do? Live off her money.

I do give her props for her comments though, especially from a country singer.

Dolly has been a longtime ally of the gay community. Furthermore, she's a great musician, songwriter, and businesswoman.

I think it's entirely possible that she's bisexual. I'd be interested in her answer to that question. Not that it's any of my business, but I am curious.

I love Dolly, and I know it's nitpicking, but I don't like hearing her say being gay is something she has been "accused" of, it is a far from positive word that just speaks out of the default viewpoint that there is something wrong with being gay. I know she didn't do it on purpose, but that may just be the point.

@Marty: I get your point, but, while there's nothing wrong with being gay in and of itself, I kind of get the choice of words here. In this case, it's meant as accusing. People say she's gay, she says she's supports gay rights, but is straight and she's married to a man, so with that they're basically saying that she's a liar.
It's saying that while she supports gay people, she's lying about herself on the same subject for some shady reason we don't know about, and that kind of cheapens her message of being proud of who you are as well. That's not very positive.

I would love to find out she really is a lezzie! That assistant of hers, Judy, is pretty darn dykey. Dolly did one acknowledge that they "sleep together" while traveling. She said it in a folksy way, implying she shares a bed with a close friend the same way she might with a sister. Still, it is odd for a multimillionaire to travel and not have her own bed not to mention her own room dontcha think?

I am from Nashville. I grew up near her estate in Brentwood. I have never met her but my mom has. I have met lots of her family though. In Nashville, you hear all kinds of nasty stuff about the country stars, how they are rude to wait staff in restaurants, act like trash etc. etc. But most of them all adhere to that redneck, white trash mentality that their fan base shares. You know, Bush is God, gays are evil, church church church.

Now Dolly seems to be in a class by herself. No matter what she says on TV, pro gay remarks, jokes full of sexual innuendo, whatever, you never hear anyone speak ill of her in Nashville. There is an irony to the woman. Here you have a lady who dresses like a madame from days gone by, there are 2 mountains in East Tennessee that have gone a missing but its rumored that Dolly is wearing em on her chest. She said if she has any more plastic surgery that she will have a beard, yet she is well known in her hometown to be one of the kindest, most gentle, genuine persons you could ever meet.
Now, I am not saying that Dolly has not licked some pussy in her life, I have no idea, maybe her husband has fooled around with guys some. But if any of it were true, so what? Just cause somebody dabbles on the other side does not mean that are in need of relabeling their sexual identity. Jesus, I have done a few women in my life but it does not make me any less gay. Dolly is a Goddess, and a friend to our community. So lets keep her on the pedestal where she belongs, God knows we keep lesser celebrities on pedestals.

I actually live in Sevier County where Dollywood is located and grew up with images of Dolly Parton. It is true that lots of rumors swirl about sexual orientation, but at the end of the day, who cares? Dolly has done so many great things for this community and I have had the pleasure of meeting her multiple times. True original.

I assume your questioning my use of the word she. I never am positive when to use he or she when talking about Drag Queens and what is PC. I always assume you use she when they are in drag and he when dressed as a boy.

I was just joking anyways, but can you imagine what Dolls would look like if she where a man underneath all of that? LOL

No doubt Dolly is an unequaled singer-songwriter but with the candy-floss hair and her bawdy, larger-than-life, knock-’em-out curves, Dolly is one of the greatest hotties of the world!

At age 63 now, as of Januari 19 th 2009, she still looks better than a lot of those so-called supermodels. I’d say it’s way overdue that she showed those 34E’s aka “The Best Boobs in the Bizz” to the world, so c’mon Dolly pose nude in the near future and don’t wait until y’er 100-th birthday or at least have the pictures that have been taken in the past published!!
