It’s good to know Donnie Davies – the man who brought us the best homo hoax in homo history with his homo-hating single, “The Bible Says” – hasn’t given up his hilarious mission. Joe.My.God reports that Davies and his band, The Evening Service, will be playing a little tune at Austin’s South By Southwest.
That’s right – everyone’s favorite fake homophobe’s taking the indie flavored stage this Saturday, March 17, at 11:05 post meridian. We won’t be there, unfortunately, but if someone can gank us a copy of this sweet ass poster, we’ll love you forever. Or until we need to devote our love to someone else…
I could see it was a prank from the getgo. I was frankly shocked that so many people could have believed it was for real. I guess it goes to show:
A) how outrageous our enemies are
B) how gullible some of us are
As a people who supposedly celebrate all things campy and fun, it seems the queer community sure do have a slippery grasp on the concept of irony. Especially when it’s done by someone not officially sanctioned by the GLAAD police.
