@HYHYBT The “split” among Lutherans and Episcopalians is happening now. Google it. Conservative Christians (Literal interpretation of the Bible) are splitting with the progressive and liberal Christians. Much of that has been reported on this site.

The good news is that the “literal” conservative Christians are only about 1/3 of all Christians. The other Christians are putting “equality” before religion.

When the Pope markets to the Episcopalians/Anglicans that are upset – he is directing his efforts towards the conservative ones.

A few months back he was opening the doors to Holocaust deniers.
Now it’s Anglican gay-bashers and misogynists.
Maybe next year he’ll find room for Southern Baptists who don’t think their church is racist enough.

The split between Catholics and Episcopalian/Anglicans was a few hundred years ago. Passing members back and forth between existing branches isn’t a split.

Meanwhile, of course, people move the opposite way all the time, just not generally in groups.

Pope marketing to Conservative Episcopalians – perfect. The “great divide” continues. Catholics going after Episcopalian customers is great. Split the church, the sooner, the better.
