As probably most did, I initially missed Aunt Violet’s tacky comment that outed Sir Anthony after he left Edith in the lurch. “(Sir Anthony’s former marriage) would have been a difficult act to follow.” To which, Ms Tacky added, “It would have been a difficult act to repeat!” (In case you don’t deduce the meaning – It implies that his first marriage was an “act” in which he played straight.)
She was so against Edith marrying the old queen and a life as a “druge” with no sex at all!

I already saw all this in the UK. I could sooo spoil your day.
Don’t worry, I won’t. It’s like having Nuclear weapons, it’s nice knowing I can blow up the world, but I don’t need to actually do it.

Thomas leaves Downton to open a gay pub in the village? As with most pubs of the era, there are private rooms upstairs.
