Dr. Laura Still Doesn’t Support Same-Sex Marriage, But Thinks It’s Beautiful, Too
Dr. Laura Schlesinger, who’s looking more and more like Judith Light, has never been a fan of same-sex marriage. Parenting is best done by straight couples — who are often prone to divorce, domestic abuse, and negligence! But now that we’ve got five states with marriage equality, she says she “I don’t have much of an opinion on it. … I am very big on human beigns finding love, attachment, and committment and being faithful to it … I still believe … that marriage is a sacrament between a man and a woman. So not calling it marriage works for me, but two people would have that sort of committment, to me, is very healthy, is a very positive thing in their lives and society as a whole.”
Shorter Dr. Laura: You fall far, far short of the (my) ideal, but it’s so cute when you try!
I’d have to call this major progress. She was a rampant homophobe only a few years ago. I’m willing to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Is this a joke? Any comparison of this right-wing imbecile to Judith Light, physical or otherwise, is nothing short of blasphemous. Need we review Dr. Laura’s past of bigotry?

I had read elsewhere that she was easing up, however.
i remember back when dr. laura was running off her mouth about something so her ex lover passed out the nude photos of miss prim and proper. that was a good day.

Maybe she finally realized that spending years chastising other people’s children, and the parenting skills of others, took precious time away from her, which she could have used to raise her own son right:

OMG. Dr. Laura is an idiot. I would rip this woman apart in an interview. What is this nervous laugh? She laughed three times in response to serious questions. They asked her about lesbian mothers and she laughed. The caller asked her about how she dodged Larry’s question about Michelle Obama and she laughed. She said she doesn’t go into political things and then went right behind her statement talking about prior president’s beliefs on marriage. So YOU DO get into “political things” Dr. Laura. Didn’t you just say you didn’t? What a douche bag! Then Larry asks her what she thought about the 5 states that legalized gay marriage and she laughed again! 3rd time she laughed because either can’t answer the question intelligently or she is a coward trying to stay neutral instead of stating what she really thinks. Even Larry asked her what she was laughing about. Then she stated twice she doesn’t have an opinion. Bitch, why are you on the show? “Not calling it marriage works for me, but two people having that commitment is very healthy.” OMG. Did she really just say that? LOL It amazes me how many stupid doctors are out there….Dr. Laura, Dr. Phil. Just lame.

I would love to watch her get injured. I would love to watch her children get killed in front of her. it would make me so happy. I dont have the guts to do it myself, but I would LOVE to see it happen.

People often laugh inappropriately when they feel very uncomfortable as she obviously did.
Apparently we are now seeing the new and improved much easier to approach Laura vs. the ice bitch…guess she was not selling enough books the other way
And as far as using the title Dr., she is a physiotherapist, NOT a PhD in phychiatry or social work. She earned a Ph.D. in Physiology from Columbia University in 1974. Her Ph.D. dissertation was entitled “Effects of Insulin on 3-0-Methyglucose Transport in Isolated Rat Adipocytes.”
While that dissertation may be laudable, it hardly qualifies her to use the title Dr. and she knows next to nothing about people and how to solve issues that they may need help with.
She is a total fraud.
#14 I’ve listened to her show, I can’t call her a total fraud – she offers pretty good advice for the most part.
But she is still a hypocrite, toning down her former positions for ratings/money whatever. She is flowing with the tide and is slowing accepting the changing social mores that Gays are not the great threat conservatives have always maintained.
Do I like her? No. But I always try to be fair.
And I’d love to hear more about this psycho son she has. Gay? Straight? Deranged? Or just trying to escape from the surely smothering sanctimonious childhood he had with her?
