Dr. Pepper 10 isn’t a soda. It’s a marketing gimmick. Aimed at manly men who don’t want to get fat drinking regular sugar-laced Dr. Pepper, but who know Diet Dr. Pepper is only for useless girlfriends and the queers, Dr. Pepper 10 inserts just 10 calories into the uber-machismo forumula so you know it’s still for masc jocks who like to live on the edge! “Dr. Pepper 10: It’s not for women!” Or fags, I think it’s safe to assume.
Although the movie looked like a odd (and crappy) mix of Avatar and Predator(s)the commercial doesn’t necessarily dig at homos. In fact it’s almost more subvertedly aimed at the macho-queens, who still have to watch their figures while shooting up horse ‘roids and letting the world know you can still exude testosterone even if you like the wiener.
Way to turn a molehill into a mountain X3

@Steve:
I agree… whoever wrote this seems to suggest that gay men cannot be considered to be manly, shoot guns, get dirty, ride in jeeps, wear rugged clothing… Queerty fucked up again…
Funny thing is… queerty fought hard to end DADT… so that gays can do all the above

I liked the action-adventure movie feel to the ad, and hardly found it offensive.
I really think that once again, some people just want something to complain about. Take your PC sensibilities elsewhere, so those of us with a sense of humor can actually enjoy life.

@kevininbuffalo: I don’t buy the 1-3% of the population is gay either. Methinks that quote is anti-gay christian propaganda.

@Prohomo: Figuring out that % is really hard to do because not everyone is “out” or willing to say “yes” to a surveyor –among other reasons. The person I know who knows the most about this stuff (a prof of mine) says 7% are gay and that goes up to close to 9% if you include bisexuals who are primarily gay. No citation provided but that 3% seems too low. FWIW….

KevininBuffalo,
I would say that 90% of all men have some degree of same-sex feeling. It’s extremely common. Only a small percentage of men will call themselves gay because saying “I’m gay” usually means that one is exclusively gay. Kinsey himself stated that the number of men with an exclusively homosexual orientation was low.
Keep in mind that the figures cited by research only tell you what the respondents are telling the researchers. This is the flaw associated with social research: the research is only as good as the honesty of the respondent. When you consider how male-male sexuality is stigmatized by society, it’s really no surprise that many men won’t fess up to it.
I keep saying to people who try to minimize homosexuality that, although the number of exclusively homosexual men might be small according to social research, the concept of male homosexuality is huge. It dominates most straight men’s thought processes, usually as a fear thing.
It’s basically a fear of self.

@jason: Your “statistic” that 90% of men have male attraction is a figment of your imagination.
Also, thoughts of homosexuality do NOT “dominate” heterosexual men’s thoughts. Straight men think about women.
Your ability to competently test your assumptions with logic and facts seems to grow more shakey every day. Get some help before you break with reality and have to go back to you-know-where.

That bitter corn syrup aftertaste makes me wonder if Dr. Pepper is actually for anyone.
