With all the recent debate and controversy surrounding ‘Tranny,’ a few drag queens and trans women have taken the fight into their own hands to positively brand the term.
During the height of the debate between RuPaul and Carmen Carrera last week, past RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 3 contestants Mimi Imfurst and Mariah Balenciaga shared the below images on Facebook. These image, which announce “I am a Tranny. Don’t tell me what words I can’t use to describe myself,” have received mostly positive comment feedback. Mimi even made the image her profile picture.

Amongst the transgender community, trans adult entertainer and Vine celebrity TS Madison recently addressed how this debate is dividing the community. Today, in a new video posted entitled ‘Re Uniting the Community,’ TS goes back stage at The Palace in Miami with TP Lords to talk to the queens and address the controversy. They kiki about the show and openly call themselves ‘Trannies,’ in a lighthearted way.
