Not only does RuPaul‘s Drag Race troublemaker Willam Belli have a role in an upcoming episode of The New Normal, but it’s the same episode out hottie Matt Bomer appears in.
Belli tells NewNowNext he’ll be playing Nana Queen, “an acerbic drag queen version of Ellen Barkin who breaks down reading for the little girl on the show.”
First Ryan Murphy cast Shangela in an episode of Glee and now this. What’s next? Latrice Royale on an episode of American Horror Story.
Actually, that would be the most amazing thing ever.

Willam is going to be the Vanessa Williams of RuPaul’s Drag Race.
I’m not sure Shangela’s casting in Glee’s Let’s Have a Kiki performance was exactly ground breaking, she was basically of many background guests in the video, if you didn’t know it was her before you saw it, you wouldn’t be wondering who she was after.

Willam was in Ryan Murphy’s NIP / TUCK and gave an amazing performance as Cherry Peck with an 5 episode story arc.
Belli has been working for years as a legit actor on TV and has done tons of indie films. It makes total sense given his relationship with Murphy that she would show up eventually on one of his shows again.

Willam and Pandora are the most interesting members of the RuPaul thing.. I don’t know why he treated them so poorly, but I love them both.

Hi Fitz,
Just my guess, Ru-Paul was all about looking pretty etc… when he was performing and doesn’t seem to respond as well to performers outside that area. Remember Rebecca in Season 1? The other judges were flat out saying she wasn’t as good and Ru Paul’s response was “But look at how pretty she is!”
If Ru Paul had his way every drag performer would be standing on the stage made up like a pagent contestent in an evening gown slowly mouthing the words to a Celine Dion Song.
