Drew Barrymore + Ellen Page Do Whatever It Takes to Lure Straight Men to Their Movie

mcx-1009-drew-ellen-1-mdn1

This is a picture of Drew Barrymore and Ellen Page. Kissing. You know one of these actresses from that alien movie, and the other from a film about teen pregnancy. Together, they star in next month’s roller derby comedy Whip It. While shooting the film, which Barrymore directed, they became fast friends. And, according to this Marie Claire photoshoot, a whole lot more. Kidding! This is just a stunt to, uh, get straight men to buy Marie Claire. How else to explain this other, from-behind pose?

This is one reason why I loathe Drew Barrymore. She’s quick to jump up for gay rights yet her demeanor seems to be more based on boner dykedom than in a genuine concern for our rights. Go away, Drew. You’re the last person we need on our side.

This should be a lesson to any other boner dyke who attempts to jump on our bandwagon. Fuck off, girls.

The article says “While shooting the film, which Barrymore directed, they became fast friends.”

This is Drew’s M.O. whenever she is publicising a new picture. Here are some outtakes from an interview she did for the movie “Grey Gardens” with Jessica Lange

“The actresses had never met before filming but bonded while spending time near the actual Grey Gardens estate

Adds Barrymore: “You can’t fake that kind of intimacy and chemistry and desire to be in each other’s company. If we didn’t have that kind of love, this movie would not have worked, period. This is a love story. So thank God we loved each other.”

And from another interview for the same film

“”We adored each other; we played off each other.

“I can’t imagine doing it with anybody else. It’s two parts of a whole, really.”

And of course they’ve never hung out since. Somebody must have once told Drew that you have to phoney up a friendship so you have something to talk about in interviews or something.

I was sooooo disappointed to learn that a love/sexual relationship between two female characters WAS NOT a part of this movie when, considering the roles they are playing—hip, aggressive roller derby girls—one might expect such a subplot. Barrymore is nothing more than a “safe” “mainstream” actor/director who will pander to LGBT moviegoers, rather than take a risk by making a queer positive mainstream film for young women. And I once liked Drew. A lot.

Heh, when that fellow Jason that complains about the “liberal bisexual double standard” sees this he’s going to be pissed. Hee hee can’t wait.

Yeah, but clever marketing ploy to a woman’s magazine “girls love is empowering” “kiss your girlfriend”…great way to promote your new movie. I definetely didn’t expect that of Ellen or Drew, but whatever pays.

The photos are very suggestive…I’ve never humped my fmale friends like that and never plan to. I love my female friends, but not enough to put my mouth on their mouths, unless it’s a life or death situation and they cant breathe.

OMG fake lesbian smooching! Throw in George W. Bush, a Southern Baptist sermon, and a gynecologist appointment, and you’ll have my favorite things all together!

Drew Barrymore, I don’t want to hate you. Don’t make it easy.

Not going to lie, I have the biggest crush on Ellen Page. I also had a huge crush on many straight girls growing up. I remember coming out, and I remember being ridiculed. My nickname was Dyke in my last two years of high school. So if either of these two are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, or whatever, I personally can say I understand why they don’t want to come out. (not saying they are) And if they are straight then that just means my dreams of marrying Ellen wont ever come true rather than it being just a possibility. Also means they shouldn’t be judged for helping gays with their rights at least they are willing to change their point of views enough to help unlike other people. (also not saying they are straight…I like to dream) I love you guys. Keep up the good work!!!!!!!
