Dueling Briefs in Leadup to Supreme Court Fight

You know how Dallas used to have those barbecue episodes where every single story line would converge all at once? That’s basically what’s about to happen to the Supreme Court.

It’s taken many years, but a whole bunch of cases are about to converge at the nation’s highest court. And with those cases come a slew of amicus briefs, wherein every organization under the sun gets to submit a little thumbs-up or thumbs-down.

In this week’s Marriage News Watch, we’ll pick some highlights of the recently-filed briefs. Among our favorites: a showdown between the American Academy of Pediatrics (a real, respected medical organization) and the American College of Pediatricians (a dreadful bunch of anti-gay weirdos).

And with all this activity, it’s easy to lose sight of some more good news from Maine: the latest polling shows equality ahead, 57% to 35%.
