Sex and romance are in the air this week, at least on home video.
Academy Award-winner Joaquin Phoenix finds mechanical love in the critical darling, Her; Zac Efron unexpectedly finds romance and, sadly, a shirt in That Awkward Moment; a couple of French hotties find a dead body and have a lot of sex in the erotic import, Stranger by the Lake (above); and several couples find drama while staying at West Hollywood Motel.

How about we take this to the next level?
Our newsletter is like a refreshing cocktail (or mocktail) of LGBTQ+ entertainment and pop culture, served up with a side of eye-candy.
In a futuristic Los Angeles where people wear bellybutton-high slacks, a newly divorced Joaquin Phoenix slowly climbs out of his anti-social mood after falling in love with a new artificial intelligence operating system. Think Siri, but smarter and voiced by Scarlett Johansson. Written and directed by Spike Jonze (Being John Malkovich), the Oscar-nominated Her is not your conventional rom-com, which is a good thing. Extras include a making-of featurette.

After several relationship disasters, a trio of longtime buds, lead by Zac Efron’s Jason, make a pact to remain single and enjoy it as long as possible. Yeah, that’s gonna happen. Soon enough, Jason meets Ellie (Imogen Poots) and falls head over heels for her. Expect plenty of shirtless scenes with Efron and meet-cute scenarios! Extras include a gag reel, behind the scenes featurette, interviews with the stars, and more.

While spending the summer at a rustic lake in the French countryside, Frank bumps into mystery man, Michel, and falls madly in love with him despite the fact Michel may have just committed murder. Winner of the Queer Palm at last year’s Cannes Film Festival, and chock full of explicit gay sex, Stranger by the Lake is total Hitchcock, with an emphasis on “cock.” A must!

Five couples’ foibles — while staying at a West Hollywood motel — make up this comedy from writer/director/star Matt Riddlehoover. Those characters include Marty, a medical student, and his boyfriend; an actress and her girlfriend; and a woman who wakes up to discover she has a penis. Room number, please?

That Awkward Moment; Stranger By The Lake; West Hollywood Motel. Looks good, of course I love the see the three first, how can I say no to a gay movie.

Strange**r by the L**ake is GORGEOUS. It is a movie Hitchc**ock could have made, if he were gay. The cinematography is epic (the action takes place in an idyllic paradise), the actors are really good, extremely hunky and good looking, the story is engaging, the sex is realistic, and the themes (the nature of desire, how irrationally sexual attraction can make us behave, how men express their sexualities differently from women etc.) are very interesting. I loved this movie

I got “That Awkward Moment” for less than 20 bucks, so where is Queerty getting prices? “Her” sucks. I wanna see “Stranger By The Lake” and “West Hollywood Motel”
