Wes Anderson’s latest venture into quirky, character-driven movies revolves around Sam, a 12-year-old Boy Scout who runs away with his crush, sending both their parents into a tizzy. Anderson perfectly melds whimsy, wonder and humanity with an all-star cast that includes Edward Norton, Bill Murray, Frances McDormand, Tilda Swinton and Bruce Willis. The scant extras, a trio of brief featurettes, suggest a souped-up Criterion edition may follow at some point.

Out lesbian directors Bobbie Birleffi and Beverly Kopf chronicle Chely Wright’s emotional and spiritual journey out of the Nashville closet, from her years as a deeply closeted country star who contemplated suicide, to her carefully strategized public coming out and emergence as a liberated and happily married activist. It’s a fascinating, moving and sometimes humorous documentary—if you haven’t heard Wright’s music before, this is an excellent intro. Extras include the featurette “Chely At Home With Her Wife.”
