We’ve had our eyes on Billy Reilich for some time now. He first came to our attention as Ellen DeGeneres’ frequently-shirtless gardener on her daytime show. She helped him land a blink-and-you-miss-it cameo in the Magic Mike sequel. Of course, as a rite of passage these days, there were also leaked nude selfies. But lately we’ve noticed something very unusual about the mild-mannered young man. He’s slowly evolved into an incredible self-tanned, body-building hulk. Please don’t make him angry!

I’ve been training with my buddy Bob (@bddesignssocal ) for a few months now. Tonight we both competed in our first physique shows. Bob (51 years old) competed in the 40+ class and took 5th! I competed in the 6 foot and up, Open Class and took 1st! This is a day that will not soon be forgotten! I don’t really mean to sound catty, but it’s like watching a slide show of body dysmorphia.

This is going to sound so bitchy, but he went from very handsome to looking like a rhoided out manorexic.
Will Bonville
Gross… so gross…

UGH
da90027
He was good looking before he looks 15 years older with all that bad tanning and overbuilt steroid bod…most bodybuilders do irreversible damage to their skin and organs most are dead by 60 and look 85 if they do make it to middle age
Christopher DeRosa
The article starts out beautiful but just gets weirder and weirder…my personal opinion but bodybuilders are not beautiful. At all.
DDstar1me
Oh god I know I’m being unkind and a little bitchy but, when is his 15 up? really? He is offering nothing.

Oh my god. Those last two pics cannot be real. How does someone do that to themselves?!

Bodybuilders are hot I’m 25 year old skinny power bottom/top vers black skinny twink who prefers & exclusively dates & has sex with Male bodybuilders and men with muscles also who love male Alpha Male bodybuilders and submissive bodybuilders I worship them They are like gods of muscles on stage. I hate when people and str8 women said male bodybuilders too into themselves, very vain and self-involved, and very bad lovers and they are very arrogant & narcissism that reason why male bodybuilders appreciate gaymen and want to sex gaymen. they and I appreciate the work it took to get a body they built. I can see how some see bodybuilders as self-centered because it is a 24/7 lifestyle if you are competing. The guys that compete monitor what they eat, how much they weigh, how many reps they do, how much they sleep etc. When I flirt male bodybuilders on Instagram they flirt back and start follow me
Captain Obvious
Why did he do that to himself? He was so cute and now ick. I don’t understand bodybuilding at all.
KerryB
Enough already! His 15 minutes were up a long time ago and he’s not that hot.
Cam
@isi22:
So your comment says you hate it when people say that body builders are too into themselves, and yet your entire post is a long winded description of you by you.
Maybe you get along with them because you have something in common.
badpappy
from gorgeous to grotesque, unfortunately.

Gotta love the body shaming in the gay community; put on a few pounds and it’s :OH my god he’s hideous and obese.” Lose a few pounds and it’s “Oh my god eat a fucking sandwich you anorexic bitch.” Choose to compete in an internationally recognized sport and its “Manerexic much; he looks hideous yuck too much muscle.” This is why we can’t have nice things.
Evji108
I’m with the rest of you on this one. He started out just about perfect in every conceivable way and ended up sinewy, twisted, grotesque, heavily fake-tanned and looking a good 20 years older. How do you even make you skin look so artificial and nasty looking? Body Dysmorphia Disorder(BDD), is a body-image disorder characterized by persistent and intrusive preoccupations with imagined or minimal imperfections in one’s appearance. A handsome, wholesome and very attractive young man’s obsession has turned himself into a middle-aged body building weirdo. Even his body language and his facial expression shows a sad desperation. The thing about BDD, is that no matter how much you work on your body, one is still unhappy with it. It shows.
Cagnazzo82
There’s nothing aesthetically pleasing about a body-building roided face/body.
I frequent /r/bodybuilding (the reddit sub) from time to time. Apparently straight people see a body like that as a goal.
I’ll never understand it.

This photo is air brushed and it’s a really bad job too

The tanning is dangerous, the Rhoids are dangerous, and his body now looks weird. If you are a fan then you might just want to stick with that instead of pretending that his turning himself into a piece of beef jerky is somehow a blow for rights.

boring.
José Ramón Harvey
Gross! He went from super handsome to body dysmorphic.
Gigi Gee
It’s called reverse anorexia. And the tan. Yikes.

That last picture, he looks like a roided out Nicolas Cage.

Too much.
oddchild1
@Cam: Can you prove steroid use? Also didn’t know that spray tans were the same as UV. Aside from that it doesn’t change your body shaming someone. What you’re doing no different than fat shaming; you’re objectifying and degrading someone because of their body; and that should never be acceptable. Once again he is participating in an internationally sport; he is an athlete; and body shaming of all stripes must come to an end.
sportsguy1983
He is no longer attractive.

He seems to be transitioning… into a walnut.

Oompa loompa doopitie do:
I’ve got a riddle waiting for you.
Ommpa loompa doopidie dee.
If you are wise, you will listen to me.
What to you get with an excessive orange tinge?
A spray tan machine and a big ‘ol syringe.
How did he get to make such big gains?
Let us just say he’s got pronounced veins.
Except the one between his legs…
Chris
He went from a handsome young man to a rhoided-out sunburnt warning for skin cancer. It’s his life; it’s his body. But I see absolutely nothing attractive in those last pictures.
I wonder, did anyone take pictures of his ever-shrinking ‘nads to go along with the above spread?
Aromaeus
I don’t understand the spray tan. He wasn’t very pale to begin with and I don’t think it’s going to give him an edge in body building so why do it?
Hussain-TheCanadian
I don’t understand body building at all – I don’t think strength comes from muscles only if this is the intention of “body building”.
I never realized the “Hulk look” is something to be desired; then again im sure a segment of the population will find his body type attractive.
moldisdelicious
no. dude does nothing for me. he’s overrated as all hell. what’s really good with queerty and all these other gay media publications quick to label any white guy with a muscular build and a young looking face as hot. i swear that’s all i ever see when it comes to these worthless gay news blogs. quick to overrated white guys and never showing any love to any blacks, asians, hispanics and etc that ain’t white. you guys literally are doing the exact opposite when you constantly post articles like these with the same guys. they’re boring.
Horse Lips
I prefer him pre-steroid.
spiffy
Not to defend him — because I’m certainly not a devoted fan — but the last pics are for contest purposes only. No bodybuilders can maintain that musculature for long; you’d have to be extra lean and super dehydrated in order to show off all the muscles and veins. And the tan is most likely painted on just before the show.
Having said that, he’s NOT a good model. At least now I know that weird stripper hair he had was for the Marco Marco fashion show; but his walk was still awful, like most of the models who walked as boys in that show.
Masc Pride
Look at allllllll the jealous HATERS in here! This guy looks good and has a amazing body. Gym lighting is generally evil to everyone. I agree that the tan makes him look like an Oscar, but that’s just what people do when they compete to enhance definition. None of you would kick him out of bed.
Masc Pride
*an amazing body.
Kangol
@Cam: I thought he isi22 was trying to give us a demonstration of “stream of consciousness” writing to make Virginia Woolf and James Joyce jealous. That, or a textbook example of “word salad.”
The spray tanning isn’t attractive at all.
strix1
I like him when he was in the Cream Pies video he did for Ellen…way before “Nick the Gardener” …and was he blonde? Don’t remember that. Not a fan spray-tanned muscle-men, but I wont hesitate to given them a smile! 😉

@isi22: good for you. Somebody’s gotta love ’em.

@Masc Pride: bro, if you like ’em, good for you. Me, not so much. Sorry. We are all not carbon copies.

@Cam: I usually agree with most of your posts but I do take exception with this one. I did a little amateur “natural” (rigorously tested) bodybuilding in my younger years (late 20’s) and I can tell you a few things:
1. The tan that he used (spray tan) is not harmful…”Jul 20, 2011 – Nearly every product contains Dihydroxyacetone, or DHA, a carbohydrate that can be derived from glycerin or plant sources such as sugar cane or beets. DHA reacts with the amino acids in the surface layer of the skin, and is generally safe for external use. The key word here is “external.” (wellandgood.com)
2. The body changes you see are NOT pleasing to many people. The extremely thin “paper-like” skin comes from carb depletion (almost zero) and almost total dehydration with body fat numbers in the low single digits. Very Unhealthy for your internal organs to maintain for any length of time. All that being said, marathon, ultra marathon athletes (100 mile marathons), iron man competitors and many others push their bodies in much the same way…to the brink of total exhaustion, break down and possible internal as well as external injury. Why do athletes push themselves? I guess that’s a question we need to ask about human existence. Why do some push themselves academically? At work?
3. The question keeps being brought up about “body dysmorphia.” While that condition certainly exists in a percentage of population (being anorexic to being hugely muscled), I believe you are leaving out the above. The competitive spirit of pushing oneself to do/be the best. Not every bodybuilder has body dysmorphia. Neither does every skinny person who wants to remain that way. By the way, most bodybuilders don’t look like that the majority of the time. Most carry a normal level of fat and for those who aren’t professional athletes (as I wasn’t), the bodybuilding was an individual sport that I could push myself. I had limited time and resources to spend on the sport and had to do the best I could with what I had.
4. The ‘roid issue. I wish everyone would really stop with the steroid bullshit. I never used them personally. I didn’t like those who did either. I detested those people who made the accusations about use without knowing a thing about the person, his dedication, his workouts or anything else about him. This guy could very well have used them. I won’t judge him. In fact, if you look at the photo at 21, then 19, then 17 months you will notice (if you look at his arms and face specifically) that he has actually lost size/weight in those succeeding photos (not put on size). The succeeding months show an increasing amount of definition/vascularity with very little difference in actual size/bulk (kind of unusual for someone engaging in heavy steroid use).
@oddchild1: Gotta agree with you too…Some of our community is so fucked up when it comes to the body image and how “we” describe people…
OBESE: Lose some weight–you’re disgusting
LOSE SOME WEIGHT: “Oh my god, eat a sandwich you anorexic bitch”
COMPETE IN AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED SPORT: “Manerexic (sic) much; he looks hideous yuck too much muscle”
Just no pleasing some folks.
Tracy Pope
Good for him. He likes bodybuilding as a competitive sport and he’s doing it. The tan? Fake. Even he commented it looks terrible under normal lighting. The one thing I think isn’t good is his hairstyle. The undercut just seems wrong for his face but that’s subjective too…
Xzamilio
This is weird… I have no room to judge him, but his body is disproportionate. His torso looks bigger than the rest of his body, but I would LOVE to be a client of his if he is a personal trainer. Nothing sexual… he just looks like he has the dedication to push others. But I’d take the first picture from this article, hold it up to him and say “This. Help me look like this and nothing more.”
Xzamilio
@sudsy17: The word arrangement is too clunky.
Oompa looompa doo-pah-dee doo
I’ve got another riddle for you
Oompa loompa doo-pad-dee dee
If you are wise you’ll listen to me.
Pumping your bod is a personal choice.
It strengthens your core and it deepens your voice.
Then your dick shrinks and you’re prone to blind rage.
Is it the excess H…G…H?
Your pecs will turn to double Ds.
Ooompa Loompa Doo-pa-dee-dah
Gym time is good, but is this too far?
He looks happy and in shape, too.
Can you say that same for doo-pa-dee-YOU??
LuckyboyLA
Jeeze, would every one of you lame-o bitchs who scream ‘steroids’ at every guy who has a worked out bod please read “youarekiddingme” extensive post? At the least, there’s simple things to look for. Bitch tits & back acne are two that can’t be hidden. If B.R. has used any anabolic steroids or HGH I’ll never eat another Dick as long as I live! Pay attention to what you Queens know best. Queer Fashion and what’s on sale at Macy’s.
silveroracle
Not a good look.
A big t off putting.
JerseyMike
Spray tan is to help show the muscles more.. Even Black bodybuilders us it to darken their skin for competition.. The darker you are better the muscle definition you will have.. Prove he is on roids.. People are never happy.. to skinny, to fat, to muscular.. can’t please you people. It’s always the people to lazy to get in the gym that complain..
Cam
@youarekiddingme:
I get your point, I think my comments are in line when you see somebody nice looking who then messes up their looks with plastic surgery, it is confusing.
JayDub
@DDstar1me: Apparently his 15 minutes were up about 3 months ago, based on this slideshow.

STEROIDS: Say good bye to your penis and testicles and up your risk for heart attacks and brain cancer.
shaun
I have no idea what people find sexy about this man. Personally I think he has no personality and love loves himself to death
moldisdelicious
@shaun:
Think the reason behind guys like him being put on a pedestal reflects on the insecurity that certain gay guys have about themselves where they project it on others. I think some of guys that write queerty let their insecurities and biases reflect through their work. I don’t understand this need to condition us men to liking certain guys.
jdboston617
YIKES! Aww… kinda breaks my heart. He’s gone much too far and looks much older than his age and no longer boyish sexy.
jdboston617
@unsterblich: OMG – YES!
Quingcess
Bring on the hate parade…
Just because some of y’all are either obese, underweight, unemployed, working boring ass cubicle jobs or are rich and have lots of money, doesn’t mean that Good ol’ Billie wants to do the same.
So please get your G-strings out your asses and stop complaining.

@Quingcess:
I LOVE people who try to complain about others being judgmental, by shallowly judging others.

@Cam: EXACTLY! Well phrased!!

Is it just me or is he starting to look like the Toxic Avenger?

Obvious gynecomastia in the third photo.
moldisdelicious
@Quingcess:
Just because we aren’t on the dick of this man doesn’t mean we are hating. We are entitled to our opinions. I don’t think there’s anything attractive about this guy. Give me a break breh
youarekiddingme
@Finrod: The 3rd Photo was taken BEFORE the 1st photo (the one of him on the Ellen Show).
#3–21 months ago
#1–14 months ago
I didn’t see any signs of gynecomastia (bitch tits) in the third photo (and certainly no signs of it in the first photo). Have you really seen gynecomastia on a man in person or just in some photo? Big difference. It’s actually pretty gross, pretty pronounced and almost impossible to disquise.
The only “cure” is surgical to remove the excess fat that has deposited (usually around the nipple area)…pretty rough. Guys who do who take ‘roids have to avoid getting “bitch tits” by taking estrogen blocking drugs. More poison in their system!
So no, I don’t see evidence of gynecomastia…in any ot the photos.
junk4sts
I honestly don’t think Billy R is using steroids, there are tell-tale signs of steroid use, in both the muscles themselves and in the face. These pictures cover a pretty long time span and a true steroid user would have shown much more muscle mass gain in that amount of time. Also, although his face has changed from the first to the last pictures, these changes are more typical of extreme fat loss and as others have said, dehydration. Steroid face, looks different than this and is usually has a puffy or bloated quality.
Many natural bodybuilders look this way for competition, it’s a “moment in time” kind of look that goes away quickly when they start eating more normally. It’s true and I think honest to say that from a purely aesthetic point of view he was more “attractive” in the first 2 or three pictures, his skin color is natural, his face has a healthy fullness, and his body is masculine, attractive and probably sustainable. He’s a naturally attractive guy.
It is very possible to do what he does and not be so public about it, for that reason, I don’t think it’s wrong to discuss his look and have both positive and negative things to say about his look. The natural bodybuilder look is not for everybody, and that’s okay.
Markajv
I saw some cute guy at the beginning of this photo spread and before I even got to the bottom he was a completely different looking person. Ughh,,,,I was diggin the T-shirt and jeans guy, not the orange bodybuilder, with the sunken in face and w/Jersey hair guy. Dudes messed up your good looks.
Cazin
@oddchild1: He has really done a lot to ruin his good looks. Also, the term “body shaming” refers to mocking someone for either the body they were born with or ended up with as a result of an injury (and hence have no control over) or for the natural process of aging or weight gain, which we all experience and have limited control over, and in any case is something we are not intentionally doing to alter our appearance. Putting on excessive and bulky musculature whether done naturally or through the use of steroids is a conscious choice to radically alter your body and you should expect it will get comments. Also, choosing to paint yourself orange is also a conscious act and it just looks silly.
Mr. Relich is free to do what he wants with his body, no one is denying him his personal autonomy, but others are free to voice their opinion that his chosen look is unappealing and undesirable to them. If that is what you consider “shaming,” so be it, no one else agrees with you.
Also, just because something is an internationally recognized sport does not mean it is either a healthy lifestyle, nor that the effects of the sport on ones body are desirable. Boxing is an internationally recognized sport, but years of getting pummeled often leave boxers with permanent injuries and a disfigured appearance.
