Elllllllllllllllllleeennnnn! Oprah’s Next Cover Co-Star

Unlike the gay talk show host Rosie O’Donnell before her, Ellen DeGeneres doesn’t publish a magazine of her own. Which means she’s got to rely on the graciousness of editors to land her face on the newsstand. (Cover Girl ads don’t count.) There’s another strategy, however. She could plead with the most powerful woman in media, Oprah Winfrey. Part gag, part legitimate attempt at publicity, Ellen phoned Oprah with a simple request: Now that Oprah is letting other folks on the cover of her magazine O, The Oprah Magazine (read: Michelle Obama), Ellen would like her shot at co-starring with Big O. On yesterday’s show, her wish was granted. Jeez, an entire thesis could be written on how powerful women both compete with and prop up each other.

I believe a thesis HAS been written on just this type of topic. Actually, it may have been more of a blog post referencing how lesbians are more open to mentoring other women in climbing the corporate ladder. Which is a tad different from how heterosexual women view/treat other women in their work place. Kind of sad that heterosexual women are more prone to using their “feminine wiles” to get ahead at work and in turn are also back stabbers when they feel threatened in reaching their goals. Of course, that’s all just a theory…right? Heh.

@TheWeyrd1: Your comment sounds like fact. I saw fiction no where in it.
