BATTLE ROYALE

Elton John And Husband David Furnish Reheat Their Old Feud With Madonna Over Golden Globes Loss

At Sunday’s Golden Globes, Sir Elton John was quite confident that he’d take home the Best Original Song award and that Madonna would go home empty-handed.

On the red carpet, Elton’s husband David Furnish told Carson Daly: “Madonna hasn’t got a f*cking chance.” Elton backed him up, saying those words were “accurate.”

Turns out they weren’t—Madge won Best Song for W.E.‘s “Masterpiece” over a ballad Elton John wrote for Gnomeo and Juliet. We mean, she didn’t hire the award-trafficking Weinsteins to make her movie for

nothing, right?

Later in the night, Furnish did what every bitchy queen does when they feel they’ve been wronged—wrote a screed calling her embarrassing and narcissistic on his Facebook!

“Madonna. Best song??? F*ck off!!”

“Madonna winning Best Original Song truly show how these award shows have nothing to do with merit. Her acceptance speech was embarrassing in its narcissism.”

The Material Girl isn’t slinging mud back, thankfully: “He’s known to get mad at me, [but] he’ll win another award. I don’t feel bad,” she said after the show.

Gawker tells us their feud dates back to a 2004 European awards ceremony, when John made fun of Madonna’s lip-syncing during his acceptance speech. Real mature, Elt.
