Elton John Pulls Off Moroccan Music Festival Without Extremists Rioting in the Streets

Despite outcries from Islamic extremists over Elton John performing at the Mawazine International Music Festival in Morocco’s capital Rabat, there appears to have been no actual violence or threats or bombings during his set.

This should not be interpreted as the Muslim world’s sudden acceptance of homosexuality, just laziness.

I have travelled to Morocco and despite some of the hateful religious folks there – they seem to have a ‘live and let live’ attitude. I saw some pretty ‘gay’ looking folks running around there – and nobody seemed to blink. Of course – it’s not a utopia – but it’s not the place these bigots want it to be. I’m glad the concert went off without a hitch.
