Equality Virginia Chief Jon Blair Exits

Jon Blair, the Equality Virginia head who took the reigns last January, is leaving the activist group to take become campaign manager for Alaskan gubernatorial candidate Ethan Berkowitz, who doesn’t even have that Sarah Palin person to challenge. Equality Virginia has been unable to get legislatures to repeal the state’s DOMA law.

He must not see much hope of achieving anything in the foreseeable future in Virginia, where the new republican Governor revoked the previous gay protections at state universities and state government, and where the new republican Attorney General Cuccinelli is on the warpath against gays, investigating professors who research global warming, and covering the boobs on the state seal. Meanwhile, they support militias of gun carrying people swarming restaurants, bars, and Starbucks, to show off “gun rights”. Virginia is devolving into the old south again.

Jon is a straight person who I think only took the position because he needed a job. Aren’t there a gay person willing to take the position?

I dont think it matters that Jon Blair is not gay, you dont have to be a label to understand the issues. I have been an equality practitioner for many years I support people from different ethnic groups and different religions so if he is not gay he can still help with the gay agenda
