I mean no ill will toward Eric Ross and fiance Doug, but I certainly couldn’t stake out San Francisco’s City Hall while watching all these breeders get married. Does this man enjoy pain?

While Doug, presumably, holds down his day job his partner Eric is hanging out at City Hall awaiting news on whether Judge Vaughn Walker will maintain the temporary stay on his Prop 8 ruling while supporters of the law try their hand at an appeal. He’s got his marriage certificate, suit, and wedding bands ready the second he finds out if gay Californians can start getting married again after a nearly two-year ban. He probably waited in line to get a new iPhone, too.
At least 52 percent of Americans — the largest segment ever recorded by a poll — wish Eric and Doug the best.
How about we take this to the next level?

Keep up the good work, Eric. We’re with you.

Eric Ross is a close personal friend of mine and I am so grateful for his perseverance and willingness to sit at City Hall every day and wait for the stay to be lifted. My wife and I live out in Fairfield/Suisun City, so it is difficult for us to always be present and Eric has agreed to be our contact guy who always keeps us up to date and informed.
It blessed my heart so much to see him sitting there on the video as he watched straight couples get married and remained a testament to the struggle that the LGBT community faces on a daily basis. It takes strength and courage to be able to do something like that! I am so happy that when the stay is lifted (and it will be lifted), Eric will be the first person to tell me that I need to get ready to get married.
Eric, thank you for your on going efforts in activism and please know that there are thousands of people that love and support you!

I echo what Kristin said above. I’m a personal friend of Eric as well, and I can’t wait for the day that he and his fiance can get legally married here in California. On a side note, I am very curious as to the information that Queerty received, as I am noticing numerous inaccuracies in this post.

Great job Eric, and way to stand behind the principle of fidelity…I am going to Canada with my man in a few months, so I’m sorry I couldn’t stay to fight the good fight, but we have to go for many reasons, security the being most prominent. However, I hope you are getting plenty of support and encouragement, since courage is what you embody.

I’ve worked side by side with Eric Ross going all the way back to Meet In The Middle in Fresno and I’ve worked with him on the effort to put a repeal on the November ballot. He’s no masochist; he’s a good friend, a amazing activist, and a dedicated and loving partner to fiance, who’s name by the way is Mat, not Doug.
I’m really proud of what he’s doing right now. It sends an important message of how hard this past year and half has been on people like Eric and Mat. They’ve had their fair share of heartache while being denied the same happiness that some of us “breeders”-(many of whom have been staunch marriage equality activists, but thanks for belittling us)-have known. Many people still need to be reminded of that.
Thanks for all that you do Eric!

Way to GO! Thank you Eric for being there to represent ALL of us who wish to be married and to keep us posted so we don’t miss a single minute of opportunity. I wish all the best to you and (doug) AKA Matt 🙂 Looking forward to getting married and seeing you two marry as well.

Doug says Eric is a superstar. Further, there is absolutely nothing sad or lonely about being at the forefront of equality when so many people wait in the wings for others to get it done (and make snide comments) and no pain was felt in the making of this newsreel (apart from the scuff on my shoes, which they fortunately edited out). Eric is an inspiration to us all, especially to me, I love him with all my being and I can’t wait to marry him. Lots of Love – Mat (that’s my real name – no idea who Doug is)
PS – just for the record, Eric has never stood in line for an iPhone.

This foolish and pointless post is what people have come to expect from an anti-gay hate site like Queerty.
Queerty, Bilerico, Truth Wins Out and other hate sites are run by “gay activists” who enjoy hurting other gay people for a laugh.
The true activists and heroes are people like Eric Ross who we should all salute.
Thank you Mr. Ross.
