Even Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer Won’t Get Married In New York, Which Is Run By Stupids

Scott Stringer, the Manhattan borough president, is going to marry his fiance, a woman named Elyse Buxbaum, in Connecticut — because to him, his own state’s draconian marriage laws are basically a big pile of crap and worth little if they aren’t open to everyone.

Color me unsurprised to learn the whole thing was the idea of Allen Roskoff, whose anti-New York politician reputation is always inserted next to his name. Luckily for the soon-to-be married couple, New York recognizes out-of-state marriages of all stripes (something the Today show just learned). [photo via]
