An Australian court found 49-year old Michael John Neal guilty on 15 counts of intentionally spreading HIV at sex parties. Neal reportedly told one of his partners that he “gets off” on infecting others. He’ll be sentenced next month. [Herald Sun]
I think they should give him the maximum, because it’s disgusting and evil that he actually would “get off” on infecting people. He really should be ashamed of himself, as he doesn’t take his condition seriously and living a very dangerous life, forcing this condition on unsuspecting partners. It’s no different from rape or robbery…swallow the key!!

Totally a scumbag but (and I hate to go there, but I will), what about the responsibility of the other participants at the sex parties to protect their bodies against infection? Don’t get me wrong: There’s NO question that this guy is evil and should be locked away. At the same time, though, and without “blaming the victims”, isn’t there a duty (in a moral, not legal sense) to be reasonably self-preservative — particularly when frolicking naked with strangers and their fluids?
