Ex-Doctor Says He’d Rather Not “Waste His Time” In Jail For Killing His Kids Over His Gay Porn Addiction

1309948147490_ORIGINAL“I think I can be useful rather than wasting my time in a prison,” 42-year-old Guy Turcotte (pictured) told a judge on Thursday.

Turcotte is a former Quebec cardiologist. He is facing double-murder charges for killing his two children. Three years ago, he admitted in court to stabbing his five-year-old son and three-year-old daughter a total of 46 times in their family home in February 2009. He claimed the murders were fueled by depression over his wife’s infidelity and his own addiction to gay porn.

Turcotte was originally put on trail in 2011. Despite the confession, a jury voted not to convict him, resulting in widespread outrage across Canada. A year later, that verdict was struck down on appeal. He was again arrested and has been held in a local jail.

He appeared before a judge yesterday begging to be released on bail, saying the other inmates were mean to him and that he would prefer to stay at his uncle’s house until his second double-murder trial. He claims he is not a threat to society.

“[During my release] I often went out in public places and I never had problems,” Turcotte explained.

Then he added, almost as an afterthought, “Except for one time in a shopping center.”

He recounted an incident when a woman recognized him at a mall and “became aggressive.”

Two psychiatrists testified that Turcotte was taking double the normal dose of anti-depressants and was not a danger to society.

“He feels that he is ready and able to be free, pending his new trial, because he has this support system in place to keep him stable,” said one of the psychiatrists.

His wife, Dr. Isabelle Gaston, who worked at the same hospital as Turcotte, begs to differ. She insists her husband is still dangerous.

Turcotte’s new trial is scheduled to begin in September 2015.

My 13 year old grandson was caught in the girls locker room 2x. He was expelled from school, arrested, my daughter home was searched, they found some pictures. They took all the computer, tablets, Iphones. Any and everything, connected to electronics. They arrested him, put him in juvenile detention until they had an opening at a youth home. It’s been 2 years now. He is just now allowed home visits. My point and I do have one. If they did this to a Nerdy 13 year-old. This guy deserves to be on death row somewhere. I like when he says, he is wasting his time in jail. Doc, since there is no death penalty in Canada, and your bored, go spend the rest of your short life in the middle-east or Africa, being guarded by some terrorist group. He’ll find out what mean is.

The difference between LGBs and Ts. LGBs want nothing to do with this murdering a-hole and would be happy to see him rot in prison. Being sane and compassionate, LGBs think of the victims, not the killer. No LGB group or celeb has come to the defense of this guy.

But if this child killer had been transgender, the Sylvia Rivera Law Project and Laverne Cox would do a video “supporting” him and his brave struggle in the oppressive “cis normative” prison system. We know they would do that. Because they just did so last week.

He had many opportunities to get things under control before the murders. If he was given the wrong medication, for example, there could be room for debate as to the degree of his responsibility. There is a difference between knowingly drinking and driving, and someone “slipping a mickey” in your 7-Up before you leave the parking lot. Short of a pharmaceutical error, he has no defense. I mean, this man has medical degrees…

How is it that one can be tried twice for the same crime? This doesn’t sound very Canadian to me. Maybe the first trial was criminal and the second civil? That would be possible in the USA. There must be more to this than what was reported.

Seriously? Why demonize Canada for this sociopath’s bad behaviour and attitude. What Qweerty didn’t report, and should have to give the story more context, was that the murderer was involved in a very bitter divorce from his wife. The custody and access to the children was a central part of their dispute. Although his desire to get back at his wife through harming his children would never be accepted as an excuse for his horrible murders, it does go a long way to explain what he did. The gay porn element does not do that at all and was never even mentioned at the original trial. Qweerty dropped the ball yet again, focusing on a gay angle that doesn’t even exist. And as for how Canada fares when compared to the US, our murder rate is less than a third of yours. You people try children under 12 for crimes and glorify execution (state-organized murder). You jail more people per capita than China and North Korea. Y’all should clean up your own backyard before talking about your neighbour’s.

I had the privilege of living in Vancouver, B.C. for 7 years. When we first moved there they had just finished a murder trail where several men, 2 were over 18 the rest under 18 decided to go out to Stanley Park, find a gay guy and beat him to death. They filled their car with sports equiptment, found someone and did would they set out to do. The two men over 18 got something like three years in prison. The teenagers got house arrest meaning they basically sat home and played video games until they became adults. There names were also never released to the public. After all of them had served their sentences a reporter hunted down a few of them including at least one of the minors. None of them had any regret for what they did. One of the adults was pissed off because he found it unfair that he had to go to prison while the minors got to stay at home. Canada falls does fall down when it comes to these things and I don’t give a damned about their murder rates. I love Canada and most of the ways it does things it does better but this isn’t one of them.

Sorry, but the truth is that the biggest transgender public person in the US is Laverne Cox, and she actively supported a child killer, as part of a coordinated effort with a major transgender organization. Could you imagine Ellen Degeneres or Neil Patrick Harris cutting a video on behalf of HRC, supporting the child killer in the above story, reading a self-serving statement from the killer, and praising him for his courage? Could you just imagine what the reaction would be from LGBs? It would be the end of those celebrities’ careers and the end of HRC. Because LGBs wouldn’t stand for it. We wouldn’t celebrate a child murderer or allow anyone else to do so in our name. Soooo – where is the reaction of the transgender community? All I hear is crickets . . .

So maybe they didn’t convict him because of mental illness- I personally think that if you kill another person, especially your own children- you are mentally ill. They can treat it like a disease, but the guy still shouldn’t be out in society if he ever made the judgement call that in a divorce what he needed to do to get ahead was STAB HIS CHILDREN.

Maybe if he wants to be “useful” and try to pay any restitution he could have some administrative paper pusher type job in medical research, but even that is pushing it since this guy is obviously very severely mentally ill. Not saying all people with mental illness are useless, but when is someone so bad they STAB THEIR OWN CHILDREN they are probably not going to be the most reliable employees……

@james_in_cambridge Do you even know what a murder rate is? You don’t because it has nothing to do with the actual number of people in a particular country. A murder rate is based per capita, that is, how many per say 100,000 people. If Canada and the US had the same number of people, the numbers of murders in your country would be 3 times higher than the number of murders in mine. Think before you type.

I would much rather live with my country’s justice system than with the puritanical horror which is the US justice “system”. Pointing out single examples of legal cases gone awry proves nothing. The Canadian legal system is sound, fair and impartial, as it should be. Your “system” in many States is not much better than a Christian version of Sharia law. An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth. A barely civil society. And yes, the stupid Rocky & Bullwinkle reference was hilarious. Right up there with the constant references to Canadian “death panels” during what passed for your healthcare “debate”. Such panels don’t, and never have, existed. Rocky & Bullwinkle was never banned in Canada. Dumb-asses.

@Matt G: Thinking like that unfairly demonizes actually mentally ill people who aren’t violent.

@james_in_cambridge: U mad bro? lol! Don’t worry, my hyper-judgmental, potty-mouthed friend. I don’t hate transfolk or any social group. If any other group were to produce videos supporting child killers, my reaction would be the same. So far, transgenders are the only ones to venture into that territory.

And as far as hurting people, I don’t believe in violence. Which is why I condemn unreservedly the murderer in the above story AND the murderer of a 13 year old “cis” girl. Why can’t trans activists have the same response to child murder w/o distinguishing based on the trans identity of the murderer?

      Apology accepted :)

We as a country know we are ridiculous (imagine making McDonald’s a national institution like we do with Tim Hortons) but banning a cartoon…lol

@james_in_cambridge: Martha Stewart was not jailed for insider trading instead she was punished for being a successful female with sentencing for charges of conspiracy, obstruction of an agency proceeding, and making false statements to federal investigators. A witch hunt plain & simple. If you are so ‘dumb’ as to not realize this I can add no more unless you wish to pay my tutoring fees. Good day to you.

@semtex: ok, fangirl. IU’d suggest dislodging from Martha’s teat and getting a legal education.

      @vivocanada:

If I can break through your jingoistic arrogance for a second….

The first part of your post was good and made a nice point. Then the rest of it was just an attack on Americans, “You people blah blah blah…”

So how about you try to have a rational conversation. It can be very effective if given a try.

I watch a lot of gay porn and I don’t go stabbing people. Is this guy for real? He might not be a danger to society but he is accused of murdering his young children for that reason alone he should be sitting in jail until his trial when a jury with some brains hopefully convicts his ass.

@vivocanada: You cannot explain away murdering your children and then using the pathetic excuse that you were addicted to gay porn.
