Mr. Dunkleman should be ashamed that he is targeting a show that raised us from the swamp that was pre-Idol reality television. If it wasn't for Heroes, Pushing Daisies, Brothers and Sisters, Desperate Housewives and Boston Legal I would have no reason to turn on the television set...except now I have cable, and the Battlestar Galactica that came with it. Yes, the show has really raised the American discourse on music and popular entertainment. I have enough real reality. I agree with Dunkleman. This show is terrible and mean spirited. The idea that they allowed William Hung to make a fool of himself for as many weeks as they did because they thought he was funny and he gave them ratings appalled me. I had not intention of watching it before that and I have had less intention of watching it since. This is just another nail as far as I am concerned.
