"Laguna Beach, long a gay-friendly community, followed Los Angeles' lead as one of the first cities to reject a ballot measure that would ban same-sex marriage. The majority Republican City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to oppose Proposition 8, intended to define marriage in California as between a man and a woman." [LA Times]

YAY Laguna, now maybe they can bring the historic gay hotel/restaurant and nightclub the BOOM BOOM ROOM back from the developer who bought it and wants to develop it into a hetero resort. But it's still nice to see Republicans coming out on the side of gay people for a change!
I love my neighbors to the south!! So apparently there ARE some good republicans after all.

Too bad my poor state of Michigan didn't figure this out first. We sure need the money.
