Fag-Loving Florida Films Will Be Eligble For Tax Break Again

Florida State Rep. Stephen Precourt was all excited about his “family friendly” tax credit for films and television shows shot in the Sunshine State — the one that banned any film from qualifying if it featured gay storylines. Well the State Senate has taken care of the issue on its end, removing the language from its bill, with the House expected to follow suit.

UPDATE 3/25: The House has also dropped the provision.

This is why the blogs are so powerful, a few years back, nobody would have known that this was going on, and there is no way that any of the news media would have picked up on it, it probably would have sailed through. But as soon as you call attention to this shit it withers and dies like fungus under the sunlight.

It was probably not the blogs that resulted in it being stopped, but rather Hollywood studios with an army of lawyers and lobbyists.
