The repugnant homosexual blogger who bravely opts to call someone the f-word instead of the n-word (and then call him a “thug”) believes that just by being alive, he is doing good for gay teens. Says the bloviating gay stain: “I think I am just by the sheer fact of my existence. I know that I personally would have loved to have me around when I was a gay teenager. Because when I was a gay teenager there weren’t that many openly gay celebrities. And I would have loved to have been like, ‘Wow look at that dude. He’s gay. He’s REALLY gay. And he’s successful and he’s not apologizing for that and he seems really happy.’ So I hope that though they may not agree with everything I say that I inspire gay youth to be themselves and to say what they think and to be proud of who they are.”
And by “everything I say,” he means “faggot” and “nigger.”
NB: If gay activists are willing to boycott companies that support things that harm the gay community, is anyone calling for a boycott of this guy’s advertisers? Because they are funding this rhetoric.
Jonathan
Haha. Well, as a 19yo, I can say clearly that I and every other queer teen I know thinks Perez Hilton is deranged, annoying and the embodiment of a hurtful stereotype that we must get rid of no matter how much straight girls refuse to let it go… I didn’t even know who he was until a little before the Miss California thing, doesn’t he just bitch and gossip about people none of us know all day?
traffick
He’s Jumped the Shark, his time is over.

I Do Not Go To Mario’s Site At All Anymore. I Know Many Other’s That Are Not Going Because Of His Actions & Words Also….
Jeremy Feist
I refuse to believe that Perez Hilton is actually gay. I just don’t see how someone could be this poisonous to his own people, really. Personally, I think he’s some sort of gay minstrel show or something. Well, that or some sort of horrifying clown…
Dave
I’ve said it before. Contact his advertisers. Has anyone read how egotist his advertising page on his site is? Boycotts and stopping all consumption of products advertised on his site will show how much of a “celebrity” and “role model” he is. This isn’t a gay issue…it’s a hate issue and this guys just spews it out. We boycott Jamaica, the Manchester and other venues for speakinging hatefully…let’s just to do it here as well.
robin
A role model for young gays? As if they didn’t have enough self-loathing, homophobia, and heterosexism in their lives to address. Jabba the Hilton is the worst kind of gay: a blithe unawareness of his own internalized homophobia.
Vince
I admit, I don’t find “Perez” to be attractive, and i’ve got as many doubts as everyone else that he accurately reflects the mind and heart of “The Gay Community”, but can we just forget about it and ignore him now? Queerty’s screaming complaint about how he attacks on his own kind, and is damaging to the very community he claims to serve, is sort of edging into the territory of hypocrisy. We get it; you and she don’t get along. It’s past time to tone it down now. It also doesn’t help to keep bringing up his weight and fashion sense.
Qjersey
I hope he is saving all the money he has been making because he is coming up on a left turn onto hasbeen highway.
walt zipprian
chickdowntown.com is advertising on his site right now. I sent them an e-mail asking them to reconsider their part in financing hate. Maybe you guys could send them a few e-mails too.
galefan2004
Mario is happy? Who knew? I was thinking something more like he was a bitter assed queen. Personally, as a kid Police Academy was scary enough with their warped view of homosexuality. I would look at this dude as a kid and be afraid I’d turn out just like him. I wouldn’t be surprised if kids look at this dude as justification for bullying other gay kids. If anything, his very existence is a disservice to gay kids everywhere.
Nelson G.
@Jeremy Feist: I checked your blog and discovered that you used the word fag at least four times. Can I assume you’re doing a disservice, too?
Nelson G.
@walt zipprian:
You wrote that on your blog in August 2007. Should we boycott you too?
NG
“Shitty Faggot Mess”
“We’re sorry to even give interior decorator and long-time faggot Bobby Trendy…”
This is how QUEERTY referred another gay person in a posting from 2007.
Look guys, if you’re all going to bitch about Perez, find another way to go about it.
Aaron
@NG:
Here Here!!
walt zipprian
@Nelson G.:
The context is completely different. But if you want to boycott me, by all means, please do. That is your right.
The Gay
The guy who interviewed him for EW is a total tool and he is exactly of the same gay-ilk as Perez is: a sad, bitter, miserable, lonely queen.
scott ny'er
@Nelson G.: You’re awesome.
Queerty’s persecution of this is just zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.
It’s like them with Clay Aiken.
Enough already. Stop writing about them if you hate them so much.
NG
@Nelson G.: I hope you’re not playing Good Homo, Bad Homo, Walt. Suggesting that there are justifiable means to using the F word wreaks of hypocrisy.
walt zipprian
@NG:
Well, the postings in my blog are short form fiction. It’s not like I walked into a gay bar and started calling people faggots.
walt zipprian
@NG:
I just looked up the line you refer to. It’s from a short play I wrote based on an incident that actually happened to two friends of mine. They were bashed in a park. When I suggested they call the police that is what one of my friends actually said to me. It was the reason he did not want me to call the police, meaning the police would be more likely to further abuse him than actually help him. A far cry from calling someone a faggot out of anger. It’s a work of fiction but is based (loosely) on real events.
But, as I said, please boycott me if you feel it necessary. although, I don’t know how that would work. I don’t sell stuff. Maybe you would not say hello to me if you ever met me?
Jeremy Feist
@Nelson G.: So I went ahead and checked your claim there: One was the name of a song by Broken Social Scene (Yeah, way to catch that one), and the others were in reference to other peoples’ hate speech, rather than actually CALLING anyone “fag”. But yeah, well done there. Way to catch the context of the word’s ACTUAL use. Next time you might want to try fact checking, unless of course you enjoy having me verbally bitch-slap you.
NG
@Jeremy Feist: I rest my case.
walt zipprian
Sorry, I should have directed my last two posts at Nelson G, not NG. My apologies.
Jeremy Feist
@NG: Ummmm, what point? Whenever I used the word, it was as a reference, rather than actually using the word to hurt someone. When Perez used it, he did it for the sake of HURTING SOMEONE. However, if you want another reason, how about his history of outing people, which is a personal decision, rather than one made by someone for the sole purpose of profiting off of your private life?
All I’m saying is, if you like Perez, hey, no worries. But don’t try to attack me using faulty logic.
Celia
@Vince: I think you’re right, really. If Queerty doesn’t think Mr. L. is worth bothering with as an example to the gay community, Queerty should stop featuring him. As for Mr. L. himself, if he wishes to be a role model, presumably he is acting the way he wishes other gay people to act. So he shouldn’t be too surprised when others start acting in a bitchy way towards him.
no 4
send your MAIN concerns to WARNER BROTHERS…they are going to team up on a record label…and that is just disgusting.
TANK
? Why do people care?
TANK
why does queerty care?
TANK
@TANK:
Because people care. Why do people care? It has to be boredom.
scott ny'er
@scott ny’er: And not 2 posts later, a Clay Aiken post appears on cue.
I’m a semi-fan and I’m sick of seeing posts about him. Good lord Queerty just stop publicizing him already.
lcatgoddess
I’m so sick of Queerty slamin’ Perez. Plenty of people use the term “faggot” in the gay community. Why the holier than thou attitude? Also, the way “faggot” appears in the headline for this posts (and apparently all posts about Perez after the incident) is so hypocritical.
lifeofthecity
@TANK:
because modern life is an illusion?
TANK
@lifeofthecity:
I’m an analytic philosophy guy…I don’t deal in profound existential truths. Sorry. LOL!
geoff
@Jonathan: As a 35 y/o, I can clearly say you and your friends are 100% right. Trust me, there are much better roles models out there.
Rose
Didn’t he just get done saying (not so long ago after the “incident”) that he isn’t trying to be a spokesperson for the gay community, yet he thinks he can be a role model for gay teens? Sad sad boy he is…
Rob
I still read Perez Hilton’s website- I’m a sucker for celebrity gossip. I also don’t care that he called someone a Faggot instead of “the N-Word”.
You cannot be gay in this day and age and attempt to persecute another gay person for calling someone a fag. It’s turned into the gay-man’s “n-word”. It’s perfectly okay for us to use it amongst ourselves both as praise and persecution, and it’s perfectly okay for us to use it as persecution against others who aren’t gay- but damn the man (or woman) who uses it against us.
Yet here is Queerty referring to Perez as ‘that “faggot” blogger’ as though never in the history of Queerty has an article ever used ‘faggot’ as persecution.
Shame on you Queerty.
Andrew W
@Nelson G.:
Oh dear, Nelson. You’ve used the words ‘fag’ and ‘faggot’ in your posts, so now we’ll have to boycott you as well! Oh hell, now I’ve done it too! We’ll all have to boycott each other!
Except, quite obviously, context is important. Perez used the word to attack and degrade a person, to suggest that there was something wrong with that. Damn right, we should be making a fuss about that.
NG
@Andrew W: But unlike some previous commenters, I’m not engaging in cafeterianism. They did.
Jack
@ All of these posts / comments:
Let’s stop calling people “fag,” “faggot,” “repulsive,” “repugnant.”
Let’s stop using the term BITCH (as in bitch-slap, bitchy queen).
Let’s stop calling people “bitter old queens.”
Let’s stop talking about another gay’s fashion sense or weight.
You are all calling each other names like little children. What Perez did isn’t right, but we can’t keeping throwing stones at each other. What a waste of time and blogspace.
If you think about it a little more, the word “bitch” is awful, as is labeling people “bitter, old queens.” We’re all going to get old, and older GLBT people suffer too from our own community’s ageism.
Queerty — please stop vilifying Perez. We get the point. Every time he does something that angers you and your editors/reporters, find a positive news item about the community to post instead. Let’s move on, drop the tiresome and boring Perez-hating, and report good things.
dontblamemeivotedforhillary
In Space no-one can hear you Scream. Now, you made him famous. Did you receive the Basket of goodies yet?

@Jack:
Well said, Jack!
I love Queerty, but lately the posts have been so hostile in nature, not just toward PH, but just have a hostile tone in general. I am all for gay activism, but not at the cost of civility and normalcy. I don’t think most of Queerty’s reent posts – the hostile, angry mob mentality ones, anyway – really reflect gay people or their mindsets in general (though, who knows, I could be completely wrong because I’m not gay).
If the writers at Queerty can honestly sit there and say they’ve never called someone a faggot, then kudos to them, but I don’t know any gay person myself who could say the same.
There’s a million other things going on in the gay community worth highlighting, like Jack said. Why are you choosing to focus your time and energy on PEREZ HILTON?! All this name throwing is making the qriters at Queerty look immature and spiteful. I feel like they have a paid position there for someone to just sit on perezhilton.com all day and wait for the next big “misstep” by Perez so you can pounce on it and write a pointless blog trying to tie it in to gay goings on and get all the mindless people who just read this site without actually THINKING about this site to gang up and say “YEAH FUCK PEREZ HILTON BECAUSE QUEERTY SAYS SO!”.
Let it go. Seriously, let it go.
Dumdum
I am soooo sorry.This guy is offensive in so many ways.As a 52 year old Gay man I weep with joy for our Gay youth.You are so edgy,creative and beautiful.I have nothing in my heart but love for you.Not the creepy lust of a pervert.But real love and hope for the future of all us faeries. Bless you all,and your common sense to know what is real! Now I can die with peace in my heart. THANK YOU !!!!!
