Famous Person Melissa Etheridge Knows We’ll Laugh At DADT, Her Tax Boycott In 10-20 Years

PopEater‘s headline “Melissa Etheridge Predicts End of ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’” is a bit misleading, because the singer — described by the site as a “musician and gay” — doesn’t foretell the downfall of the law with any particularl timeline, a la Nancy Pelosi or HRC, just that she “know[s] that we as a country and we as a world are moving forward into understanding that you can’t legislate people’s choices and what one person considers good and what one person considers bad.”

Oh, sorry, Melissa does offer a timeline: “I know in the next 10, 20 years this will all be behind us and we will all sort of laugh at those crazy days when ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ was a law.”

Great! Now go pay your taxes, lady.

She shouldn’t be surprised when the IRS comes to her window and waits by the light of the moon.
