First Look: Lesbian Vampire Killers

Accusing James Corden and Mathew Horne’s new comedy-horror film Lesbian Vampire Killers of being horribly exploitative and riddled with demeaning stereotypes seems sort of beside the point for movie that aspires to Shaun of the Dead greatness. We’d totally nail this film if it didn’t look so darned–well, good. Watch the trailer after the jump.

Wasn’t this an episode of Smallville with Lana, LOL. I’d be surprised if this pulled in a big lesbian crowd. Any ladies out there? What do you think?

@Sebbe: As it’s unlikely to play at a movie theater near me I won’t go see it, but I’d probably add it to my Netflix queue as it does look kind of funny. It looks like it’s aimed at straight teenage boys, though.

I find it odd that the “international trailer” chooses lines and scenes with language that subsequently are muted out.

Are we sure it isn’t “direct to dvd” anyways?

Probably, but it has that graveyard showing quality to it, that shows like Repo Man, Priscilla and Rocky have.

Isn’t the skinny lead an out gay actor? Isn’t he dating Russell Tovey?

At any rate, both of the leads star in a great UK show called Gavin and Stacy.

Reminds me of the cult classic Vampyros Lesbos (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vampyros_Lesbos for those wondering) except this movie seems to put a more modern take on it, unfortunately.

Well then, as a British person who saw this at the cinema, I can confirm it’s SHIT.

@JamesRiley: I prefer the word “shite” myself ! :-p

@hardmannyc:Yes there was! It was so bad it was good!

To push boundaries further, some wanna-be cinéaste will next make a movie about Transgender Vampires, followed by a flick on Asexual Vampires, both of which will result in tremendous picketing, a flurry of angry posts across the blogosphere & a cry for censorship among Catholics, Mormons, Post-Gays, & NRA members.
I can’t wait!
